Job Summary: Works collaboratively with internal colleagues and external community partners to ensure that DDAR Foundation's grantmaking resources are effectively invested and monitored to produce positive, sustainable progress towards the achievement of DDAR's mission. Facilitates capacity-building and program evaluation activities with grantees and works closely with the Foundation Executive Director to keep the Board of Directors informed, sharing key learnings and insights. Plays a key role in developing and applying tools to collect, analyze, and communicate evidence of grant funding impact to support learning and mission delivery.


Primary Job Responsibilities:

Community Partner Engagement

1. Communicate Delta Dental of Arkansas Foundation's funding priorities, funding opportunities, and grant application procedures to applicants and grantees.

2. Assist prospective grantees in developing ideas that may be used for potential grants.

3. Work closely with existing grantees to ensure that all deliverables in grants are met in a timely and thorough manner and that communications between the grantee and the Foundation are clear and complete.

4. Identify technical assistance needs of grantees and manage assistance with outside resources.

Strategy and Design

5. Research and define grant guidelines. Ensure defined guidelines clearly outline eligibility and lead to the strategic goals of the Foundation.

6. Responsible for use of Foundant reporting tools to design grant applications, evaluations, and grantee program reports.

7. Develop data collection and program evaluation protocols to analyze outcomes and impact of funding.

Evaluation and Impact Assessment

8. Analyze grant proposals to ensure alignment with corporate and Foundation strategic objectives and Grant Guidelines. Prepare an explanation of both potential and risks related to proposed projects.

9. Monitor the progress of Foundation-supported grants through site visits and regular grantee communication, and analyze progress.

10. Responsible for review and analysis of all grantee reports and documentation of results, persons served, key learnings, and comparison of expected goals to actual deliverables.

Communication

11. Work collaboratively with DDAR Marketing team to develop content regarding DDARF mission and the impact of funded programs for internal and external audiences (including social media, press releases, website, annual Community Impact Reports, etc.).

12. Create written communications, presentations, and data visualizations to share outcomes and learnings of funded programs with internal and external stakeholders.

13. Responsible for creation of reports as needed for Foundation Board meetings.

Other Duties as Assigned

14. Work with Executive Director and Foundation staff on other assignments as needed.



Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:


Position requires a Bachelor's degree in business, public policy, public health, public relations or a related field. A minimum of seven years combined experience in corporate philanthropy, business operations, program evaluation, community affairs, nonprofit management, and/or foundation grantmaking, including grants management required.

Preferred qualifications: Master's degree, experience analyzing grant program effectiveness and/or grant coordination, understanding of policy and advocacy. Interactions with grant oversight and management, stewardship and relationship management with nonprofit charitable organizations. In addition, experience in the oral health field, public relations, communications, budgets, and social marketing is a plus. Will accept a suitable combination of education, training, and experience.

Position requires a broad knowledge of community health issues; ability to work well with people of diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and cultures; excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to work as part of a team; an understanding of oral health issues and challenges facing communities in Arkansas; good organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks to meet deadlines; knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, spreadsheet, and grants management technology. Data analytics and visualization skills are a plus. Statewide travel with occasional overnight trips will be required.
