JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

WPSU Penn State is seeking a Community Engagement Manager to direct the development and execution of outreach activities at the station; lead the Advisory Board; and guide our communication with local, state, and national legislators about the impact of public media to the communities we serve. The Community Engagement Manager will build and cultivate relationships locally to build awareness about projects, membership, and volunteering, and will partner with internal stakeholders to engage communities with WPSU, Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), and National Public Radio (NPR) content.

The Community Engagement Manager will be a key liaison to the WPSU community advisory board on strategic initiatives. They will engage with local organizations, in person, and through media; create and give presentations; participate in strategic planning; and lead teams to plan and implement engagement projects. This role will also collaborate with the Marketing department to set quantitative and qualitative goals for community-building activities and presentations; and track, analyze, and communicate results along with recommendations for future opportunities.

Education and Experience : This position will be filled as a Media Manager, level 2 or 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. A level 2 typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus three or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs.

A passion for public media on all distribution channels is essential.
