Collections Specialist Job at United Recovery and Remarketing

United Recovery and Remarketing Collierville, TN 38017

Job Description:

United is a leader in the repossession and remarketing industry. Our success has been built on providing exceptional service to our clients, many of whom are some of the largest lenders in the United States. By utilizing the latest technology and investing in the development of our people, United has experienced continued growth since our inception in 1973. We currently operate out of over 40 branches across the nation and are looking to expand our footprint into more locations soon.

One of the key ingredients to our sustained success and growth is our passionate, dedicated and talented Uniteders - that is what we call ourselves. We are more than associates, employees, co-workers - whatever word you want to use to describe a group of people that just work together. Uniteders are family. Uniteders are a group of people that unite together to create a working environment that encourages enthusiasm, comradery, creativity, individuality and grit. In return, we have shaped a culture that is not only different, but one of a kind. We are quirky and weird and different and unique. We are all those things. But collectively, we are UNITEDERS.

Due to expanding business, we are now seeking a Collections Specialist to join the team!

What’s the basic nature of the job?

URR’s corporate clients include banks, financial institutions and credit unions who finance vehicles, RV’s, boats, motorcycles and other units for their customers. When those loans are not repaid as agreed upon, or if the customer does not respond to their lender, those client companies will send URR a recovery assignment. As the Collection Specialist you will:

  • Contact customers with overdue accounts and attempt to either collect the overdue amount or negotiate a payment plan to collect it in installments.
  • Use credit bureau data, post office information, internet searches and other tools to try to locate customers who have moved or changed phone numbers.
  • Maintain records of contacts and attempted contacts with delinquent account customers as well as records of any payments collected from the customer.
  • Resolve customer issues and complaints concerning billing.
  • Submit regular reports on the status of unpaid accounts and any repayment progress.

Where will I work?

You will work in our corporate headquarters in Collierville, which is less than one-half mile from the scenic Collierville town square. Almost 200 Uniteders work in this location!

What’s the work environment like?

If you like things casual and informal, you’ll like URR! We have a very relaxed work environment and you can dress down here; business casual attire or jeans are just fine. No ties or suits are necessary here! Plus, we like to have a little fun at work! You can relax in one of our new employee break rooms or play a game of ping pong or pool in our employee lounge area.

What’s the work schedule like?

URR’s normal business hours are Monday-Friday from 8:15 AM until 5:15 PM, and almost all of our positions’ work schedules fall within those times.

What are the benefits like at URR?

URR offers a full complement of employee benefits, which are outlined on a separate handout. Our benefits plan is a ‘cafeteria-style’ plan, which means you can pick only the benefits you want; you never have to participate in a plan you don’t want or need. In addition, URR offers Paid Time Off (PTO), and new Uniteders are eligible for two weeks of PTO per calendar year with no waiting period; that means you’re eligible to take time off immediately after you begin your employment, without having to wait some arbitrary 3, 6, or 12-month waiting period as is customary with most companies.

Experience and Skills:

Your background should include previous collections experience, a H.S. diploma, GED or equivalent and the following..

  • Detail Oriented
  • Strong Organizational Skills

If you are a hard worker and team player, let's talk!
