Collections Specialist Job at Stony Brook Administrative Services
Seeking a seasoned Collections Specialist with extensive Fertility medical practice experience.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Observe accounts to identify and collect overdue payments
- Address client queries regarding repayment plans
- Communicates effectively with patients to request and arrange payments towards outstanding account balances
- Take necessary action to encourage timely payments
- Keep accurate records and reporting on account collection activity
- Develop collection methods that consistently lead to achieving or exceeding company goals
- Process patient payments and post accordingly
- Review patient accounts to ensure charges are posted accurately based on insurance requirements or financial program

Position Requirements
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of prior experience working in collections
- Fertility experience required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience using computers
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Able to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Microsoft Excel experience preferred
Physical Demands:
Must be able to sit for long periods of time, and must have manual dexterity to work computer systems and keyboard.
