The Snap-on Tools facility in Crystal Lake is looking for a Collections Specialist. This role will reside in our Customer Care Center. The position will analyze internet A/R balances and identify actions required to clear open transactions, communicate with customers by phone, and email regarding amounts due or past due in order to secure payment arrangements. Must have previous consumer credit and collections work experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Analyze internet A/R balances and identify actions required to clear open transactions
  • Communicate with web customers by phone, e-mail regarding amounts due, past due or refunds
  • Identify, document and recommend write-offs for bad debt or financial exposure
  • Review, prepare, analyze and document accounts receivable aging reports and other ad hoc reports
  • Meet Key Performance Indicators and follow the procedures and protocols established by the company
  • Use RCI to eliminate the opportunity for open A/R to occur
  • Process reversal sales orders as required
  • Maintain appropriate documentation to support collection / refund efforts
  • Create IT tickets to resolve systematic credit card opportunities
  • Process credit card payments
  • Maintain franchisee shipped not invoice reports and take appropriate actions to process invoices
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1- 3 years of experience related to consumer credit and collection
  • High School diploma or equivalent, associate degree in accounting a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite software including strong Excel skills
  • Customer service oriented with strong interpersonal skills. A strong team player and emphasis on customer service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multi-task
  • Must have the ability to remain calm under pressure in order to promote good customer relations both within and outside the company
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Great attention to detail and analysis skills
  • Leverage rapid continuous improvement to identify opportunities and streamline processes
  • Willingness to flex as the position evolves and/or needs of the department change
  • Ability to work overtime, as assigned
