Job Summary:
This position is for a member of the manufacturing engineering department at Vintage Air, specializing in CNC Programming. Vintage Air is a manufacturing company that has been producing performance air conditioning systems and accessories for hot rods, muscle cars, classic cars, and classic trucks since 1976. We are looking for candidates who will operate multiple CNC machines in the production of aluminum and steel parts.

Job Responsibilities:
The CNC Programmer will be responsible for the following:
  • Interpreting projects with complex and tight tolerance features to determine dimensions and configuration of cuts per CAD models and prints
  • Analyzing drawings, specifications, and design data in order to determine the appropriate machine tool, work holding, cutter selection, machine speeds, and feed rates
  • Setting up and operating CNC machines including multi-Axis lathes, 4 axis mills, and 2 axis lathes
  • Performing test runs and adjusting until the resulting product meets print specifications, while troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing issues as they arise
  • Continuously improving and optimizing setup times that will lead to reduced run times
  • Recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions
  • Carrying out inline inspections to ensure that products meet print specifications
  • Maintaining a safe and positive work environment with team

Experience and Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience programming CNC machines, knowledge of either Creo/Pro-Manufacture, Esprit, Fusion 360 preferred
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods
  • Knowledge in machining best practice techniques and the ability to read blueprints
  • Experience cutting a wide range of materials including aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, copper, thermoplastics, nickel alloys, tool steel, and more
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Must possess strong work ethic, communication skills, and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Pleasant and cooperative approach to duties and fellow employees
  • Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel experience preferred
  • Must be able to think ‘outside the box’ on a daily basis in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must have a positive attitude and dependable transportation
  • Must be able to learn and follow detailed work instructions
  • Must be proficient with basic hand tools
  • Must be able to pass a drug test
  • Must be able to work in a non-air-conditioned environment, though will have an office setting as well.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently communicate with coworkers, move about inside the facility, operate equipment, place/position parts throughout the facility, and position self to reach inventory on low and high shelves. The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to identify part numbers on bins, recognize signage throughout the facility, and detect any warning lights or signals. Employee is working in a non-air-conditioned manufacturing facility which is very warm in the summer months.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be working around moving mechanical parts or machines. The employee must follow proper required safety procedures. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with hearing protection provided as needed/required.
