Dixon Valve & Coupling Company LLC Chestertown, MD 21620

We are looking for a CNC Programmer to join our Boss Division in Chestertown, Maryland. In this role, you will be responsible for developing CNC programs and tooling to aid in the manufacturing of our products, making program adjustments in accordance to established best practices, correcting faulty programming, and optimizing cycle times and operation sequences. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide shop floor support troubleshooting and resolving machining issues
  • Create new or validate unproven programs, verify 1st piece, and document the process for production
  • Understand and interpret programming code (G code)
  • Use Solidworks to design machine and/or part specific workholding and tooling
  • Understand design intent of parts, their tolerances, features, and general quality requirements
  • Optimize machine speeds, cut angles and depths, feeds, and coolant flow to reduce machining costs.
  • Comply with all safety requirements

COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong CNC programming and technical knowledge
  • Prior experience working as a CNC machinist
  • Effective communication skills
  • Working knowledge of CAM software and Solidworks
  • Ability to set up machines quickly and accurately for the next job
  • Be able to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 70 pounds over the course of a shift
