VetsEZ is seeking a Cloud Systems Engineer to join our remote DevSecOps team and support our customer, the Department of Veterans Affairs. An ideal candidate will have experience with cloud service provider (CSP) portals, tools, and scripting languages to build and run software in the cloud. The Cloud Systems Engineer would work with infrastructure, platform, application, database services, virtual machines, containers, storage, and networking in a CSP environment like AWS or Azure.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
  • Work with the development and production support teams to ensure the applications work as expected.
  • Designing, developing, and deploying modular cloud-based systems.
  • Interacting with clients, providing cloud support, and making recommendations based on client needs.
  • Integrate cloud solutions with existing networks and systems.
  • Ensuring efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or any other relevant discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of cloud development experience is required.
  • Experience with DevOps principals including but not limited to Infrastructure as code, CI/CD, containerization, and sysops principals.
  • Experience with Docker and Jenkins.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, or scripting for architecture automation equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of AWS as well as Azure.
  • Strong demonstrated Linux experience is a must.
  • Requires Ansible and Python knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues and effective documentation skills.

Additional Qualifications:

  • AWS Certification
  • Ability to obtain a government clearance.
  • VA experience is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a government clearance.
