The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) A6 Directorate plans, organizes, and manages information technology (IT) processes, systems, networks, infrastructure, and programs across USAFA through direct, peer, supervisory, and functional relationships (formal and informal). The Senior Systems Engineer shall operate, maintain, and manage day-to-day operations and deployment of USAFA cloud services and IT support systems in support of approximately 7,000 users. Lines of operation include Cloud Services, Email Services, Collaboration Services, Security and Backup Services, Mobile Services.

Duties/Responsibilities:

T2/T3 support for faculty and students

Administration of Microsoft 365 services

Azure services

Tanium-

• Maintain overall tool status
• Build and maintain software packages for Windows
• Configure and maintain compliance and vulnerability scans for Windows, Linux and Mac
• Work with various partners to ensure needs are met

Splunk-

• Build and maintain SIEM environment
• Configure system for ingestion of logs
• Build dashboards and reports as needed
• Configure log retention policies
• Extract data from logs for security incidents
• Provide requested data for Palo Alto, Corelight, Office 365, Azure, Tanium, etc. data

Linux System Administration-

• Build systems
• Patch and maintain
• Upgrade Operating Systems

VmWare-

• Configure and maintain VxRail environment
• Build virtual systems (Windows and Linux)
• Implement virtual networking

Security-

• Address items in POA&M
• Build recommendations for customer
• Address IAVM and STIG items
• Maintain security posture using Nessus, ACAS, Tanium and other tools
• Compile After Action Reports for Incidents
