We are seeking applicants to fill two temporary Clinician (benefits eligible) positions for the new State Hospital West (SHW) located in Nampa. SHW is a 16-bed Adolescent Psychiatric Treatment Hospital nestled between Ridgecrest and Centennial golf courses on a picturesque piece of state property along the Nampa Interstate 84 corridor.

SHW has two part-time (32 hours) counselor/therapist temp positions that would provide therapeutic groups and individual counseling in an inpatient psychiatric hospital for youth ages 11-17. Experience working with youth with mental health needs is necessary. This job will require group and individual therapy and documentation according to requirements, but does not involve assessments, treatment planning or case management. Clinical oversight and supervision will be available onsite.

Our temp positions provides an allotted amount of 1,385 hours to work in a 12-month period for any one state agency. Hours of work are typically M-F 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., but will consider applicants who would like to work a non-traditional schedule.

Example of Duties

  • Provide therapeutic groups and individual counseling to patients
  • Provide documentation according to hospital requirements
  • Perform assessments, evaluations, observations, and interviews using a variety of assessment tools to identify strengths and needs, then interpret findings in written and oral reports
  • Develop treatment plans, recommend services and interventions to the Treatment Team
  • Ongoing case management consultation with members of the Treatment Team, Regional Case Managers, Community Mental Health providers and Families involved with the patient to gather data relevant to assessment, treatment, and discharge planning
  • Perform assessments for patients at risk due to suicidal, homicidal, assaultive, or elopement behaviors and develop a structured intervention immediately to implement in the Treatment Plan
  • Document clinical observations and assessment data in the electronic medical records per hospital policy and procedure

Minimum Qualifications

You must possess all the minimum qualifications listed below to pass the exam for this position.   • A Master’s Degree (or higher) in a direct clinical practice Human Services field (Master’s degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family counseling/therapy, psychosocial rehabilitation counseling, psychiatric nursing, or very closely related field of study). Substance abuse education or certification (ACADC, CADC) in addition is preferred, but not required.
  • This position requires licensure in one of the following: Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Pastoral Counselor (LPAS), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT).
