The Clinical Research Assistant performs a variety of clinical study activities to assist the Research Study Team and the Principal Investigator in the conduct of clinical research studies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the clinic's medical research studies as well as the diagnoses and medical terminology that is involved in each study

  • Measure and document vital signs in patient chart

  • Assist with effectively managing patients and ensure their compliance of protocol

  • Document allergies, medical history, and medications

  • Obtain and ship blood and urine specimens

  • Perform ECGs The Clinical Research Assistant performs a variety of clinical study activities to assist the Research Study Team and the Principal Investigator in the conduct of clinical research studies.

  • File visit documents in patients' charts

  • Perform data entry

  • Assist with recruiting potential clinical research study patients

Qualifications:

  • Must have Medical Assisting Diploma, certification preferred

  • CPR certification required

  • One year of related experience required/and or a background in health sciences preferred

  • Clinical research or patient recruiting experience strongly preferred

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel)

  • Well-developed organizational skills and attention to detail required

  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills required

  • Must be professional, possess a high degree of urgency and self-motivation, and have a strong work ethic

  • Possess an outgoing personality and have good rapport with patients

  • Ability to work well with co-workers, potential subjects and have a positive attitude

  • Ability to effectively and efficiently handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adhere to requirements

  • Must possess a high degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality with HIPAA guidelines, patient matters and other confidential information.
