Position Summary:
Performs primary functions of the Registered Pharmacist in interpreting and evaluating medication orders and prescriptions. Prepares and dispenses medications in accordance with established hospital and laws governing such acts. Supervises and verifies the accuracy of all work performed by pharmacy technicians/interns. Performs clinical functions of the department and provides pharmaceutical services to neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients. Is responsible for developing and promoting collaborative and collegial relationships with nurses, physicians and interdepartmental personnel as they relate to the pharmaceutical care of the patients.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy. At least one year of Hospital experience as a pharmacist preferred. Current Massachusetts Pharmacist License required. Requires a working knowledge of all basic aspects of health system pharmacy (including drug therapeutics and sterile compounding) [note this is from LHMC pharmacist job description]. Prior experience with Epic is preferable.
