The Clinical Educator provides initial and ongoing training, education, knowledge, and guidance to develop staff and enhance the application and knowledge of clinical skills and competencies. Achieves this by working with the local leadership team to create and implement training programs (such as CNA and QMAP) that provide career ladders and growth opportunities for staff while increasing their understanding and knowledge of routine nursing care.

Job Duties:
  • Implementation, management, and maintenance of C.N.A. and QMAP training and educational programs that meet all compliance, provide an excellent development experience for our employees and results in highly skilled and motivated CNA and QMAPs.
  • Program trainer for new hire and existing employees in the following areas: Clinical, on-going QMAP, Infection Control, CPR, MANDT, Safety Care and Bx.
  • Attend monthly (2 minimum) rotating programs Quality checks (Meal observations, Snapshots, Medications). Attending house meetings at all ICF programs and Day Program and conducting monthly training on relevant topics. Clinical RN delegation and on-call rotation as needed.
  • An ongoing resource for training and education needs of LPNs such change in conditions, new conditions, readmissions.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and EHR.
  • Highly skilled and effective educator and trainer.
  • Organized, well established time management skills, able to prioritize and meet deadlines, self-starter, able to work in fast paced environment, competent in clinical skills.
License and Experience:
  • Three years in IDD or comparable (LTCF, Home Care, Public Health) with at least two years in educator role with one of those years as RN clinical educator.
  • Active RN license.
