GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Train and educate nursing service activities for all clinic locations and provide assistance to the Director of Clinical Operations as needed.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports directly to the Director of Clinical Operations.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Daily supervision of the Imaging Coordinator.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (May not include all of the duties assigned)

1. Works directly with clinic staff on clinical workflows.

2. Implementation and education of new workflows.

3. Re-education of staff on workflows as needed.

4. Assist director on annual review of nursing policies and procedures.

5. Implement and supports nursing policies and procedures and updates staff on changes.

6. Maintains a cooperative relationship with staff by communicating information, and responding to physician, patient and staff requests, while building inter-departmental rapport.

7. Supports and suggests departmental goals and objectives.

8. Responsible for assessment of staffing needs and monitoring work schedules, hours, and daily assignments.

9. Participates in nursing care essential to the assessment, promotion, maintenance, and restoration of patient’s health and wellness.

10. Trains and educates staff while offering guidance and counsel as needed.

11. Approves timecards and overtime for assigned staff.

12. Assist in collecting data for monthly reporting.

13. Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.

14. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.

15. Performs related work as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
  • Knowledge of organization policies, regulations and procedures to administer patient care.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of employee development to train staff.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Skill in identifying problems, and researching and recommending solutions.
  • Skills in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence.
  • Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards.
  • Ability to supervise the members of a health care team.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
Education: High school diploma. Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing or registered nursing.

Experience: Two years of nursing experience including one year of supervisory level experience preferred.

Certificate/License: Must have passed State Board of Nursing licensing examination and hold a current license for the State of Louisiana as a LPN. CPR certification required.
