Lahey Hospital & Medical Center Dermatology is seeking exceptional full-time clinic manager to oversee administrative operations in our rapidly growing practice.

Lahey Dermatology is a full-service practice, offering general dermatology, dermatologic surgery, and multiple specialty services across four clinical locations. We have 25 providers and trainees and over 85 total Divisional employees, including 15 clinical administrative staff (secretaries, schedulers, practice assistants, et al). The Clinic Manager would lead the clinical administrative staff team and oversee all daily administrative operations in support of the highest-level patient care. The position requires strong customer service, managerial and technical skills.

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

DIRECTS THE ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM of secretaries, administrative assistants, schedulers, practice assistants, and research assistants.

  • Establishes a work environment that prioritizes patient experience and safety
  • Ensures adequate staffing coverage: recruits, retains, and engages employees
  • Provides feedback, annual appraisals, and disciplinary action when appropriate

Leads the administrative team in PROVIDER SUPPORT functions, including coordination and facilitation of:

  • Time away, society memberships, and expense reimbursements
  • Licensure and maintenance of certification
  • Clinical schedules and workplace calendars
  • New provider recruitment, interview, and onboarding activities

Leads the administrative team in support of ACADEMIC PROGRAMMING, including coordination and facilitation of:

  • Departmental meetings, rounds, and educational sessions
  • Clinical training programs (fellowships, residencies, medical student rotations)
  • Administration of research and endowment budgets

Serves on the DERMATOLOGY LEADERSHIP TEAM with colleagues including the Division’s Chair, Executive Director and Nurse Manager. Contributes openly and critically, and commits to action in support of team goals. Shared team responsibilities include:

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining systems to optimize patient experience and care team productivity
  • Data procurement, analysis, and distribution
  • Budget preparation and monitoring, with operational adjustments when indicated
  • Marketing, outreach, and collaboration beyond the Division

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration strongly preferred. Master’s degree is desirable.

Licensure, Certification, Registration: N/A

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and interact professionally with all levels of clinical personnel. Ability to effectively lead by example and model patient-focused behaviors. Excellent command of relevant technology; in particular the ability to quickly become highly proficient in the systems used by direct reports, such as Epic (Ambulatory and Cadence modules), Workday, and Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and OneDrive).

Experience: Three to five years of leadership experience in a healthcare setting. Leadership experience is required.
