TRC is seeking aCivil Designer IIwith strong design capabilities to join our growing Power Engineering Practice. The successful candidate will have 5 to 8 years of civil design experience, specifically with AutoCAD Civil 3D, in support of a wide variety of civil and environmental projects. The successful candidate will fulfill a design role working with other designers and civil engineers on a variety of technically challenging projects primarily for land development associated with Renewable Energy clients.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing civil design services in a variety of civil and environmental applications, including permitting, construction details, and storm water management. Design services shall include concept-level to final design, including the preparation of layouts, details, specifications, and bidding documents necessary for permitting and contractor bidding and construction.
  • Preparation of conceptual drawings, final construction level drawings, detail sheets, cross-sections, site grading and cut/fill calculations, and as-built/record drawings.
  • Assisting Client Managers/Project Directors during proposal development including formulation of work scopes and budgets.
  • Managing technical activities on medium-to-large, projects within scope, budget, and schedule expectations while ensuring quality standards on project deliverables.
Requirements:
  • 9 to 20 years of civil design consulting experience with primary focus in design for the last five years (consulting experience preferred).
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D with emphasis on mass grading design for large tract areas (e.g.solar arrays).
  • Ability to work independently or in a project team with demonstrated excellence in oral communications, analytical, professional judgement, and team building skills.
  • Willingness to learn.

Beneficial Skills/Certifications:

  • Hydrology and hydraulics calculations related to land disturbance activities.
  • Experience developing the following regulatory packages:
    • NPDES permit applications related to land disturbance activities
    • NPDES permit applications related to wastewater discharges
    • Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) related to Industrial Storm Water activities.
    • Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures (SPCC) plan
  • Land survey experience a plus.
  • ArcGIS capabilities a plus.
