Chief Financial Officer Job at Career Start
Career Start is currently seeking a Chief Financial Officer in Rochester, NY. To be considered for this Chief Financial Officer position, preferred candidates need to have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience progressively responsible work experience managing the accounting functions in a non-profit agency or equivalent experience. The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for overseeing all accounts, ledgers, financial software (Great Plains) and reporting systems.
Responsibilities of the Chief Financial Officer role:
- Oversee an inclusive process to establish an annual operating budget for the Organization & Economic Development Corporation’s budgets.
- Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with department and subsidiary leaders; collaborate to assess the financial efficacy of program operations and establish finance and administrative systems to support program operations.
- Assist the Program, Planning, Research and Evaluation team in preparing budgets for grant proposals which fit into the organizational strategic priorities.
- Ensure the maintenance of financial records and recordkeeping systems, including grant/fund accounting, to ensure compliance with all regulations, generally accepted accounting practices and contractual requirements.
Requirements of Chief Financial Officer role:
- CPA or Master’s Degree preferred
- Demonstrated ability to organize, direct and coordinate operations in personnel supervision, the recruitment and retention of key personnel and budget management
- Familiarity with Great Plains
- Thorough knowledge of budgeting and accounting practices, processes, and procedures of non-profit organizations
