We have an exciting new Facility Chief Engineer position available for an individual with proven leadership experience! The ideal candidate will have experience as a Facilities Chief Engineer and the ability to manage multiple projects while supervising a team of Building Maintenance Technicians. The candidate will also have experience in HVAC systems, electrical, and plumbing repairs for a Class A facility.

Job Summary:
Under indirect supervision, the Facilities Chief Engineer oversees and coordinates the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all building systems, specifically facility operations. Supervises and works with onsite staff in the installation, repair, and maintenance of the site infrastructure, building equipment and controls located throughout buildings. Provides exceptional client interface and oversees all facilities related projects, contractors, vendors, programs, building systems and procedures. Conducts routine and on-going assessments of the building infrastructure, equipment and all assigned staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Works closely with the site operation teams, and actively seeks to deliver timely support and solutions.
  • Communicates effectively and appropriately while providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Regular coordination and communications with client’s Facilities Manager regarding maintenance issues, work order status, budgets and special projects.
  • Manage and support the site maintenance staff to establish proper work priorities, assignment workloads, training, and safety precautions for the department, including governmental, client and/or Camelot COVID restrictions and mandates
  • Monitor, adjust and utilize the building automation system to efficiently operate the HVAC equipment in order to provide a comfortable environment for the building occupants.
  • Oversee the inspections and periodic general preventive maintenance on the building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Ensure either directly or through delegation that all requests for services are resolved and services are implemented in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Manage the facility’s CMMS to ensure timely completion of work orders and proper and timely closing of work orders for effective client reporting.
  • Ensure full utilization of the CMMS to include team start and stop times, inventory control, and asset tracking.
  • Provide effective reports and trend analysis for client quarterly business review meetings.
  • Ensure appropriate PM’s are established for the facility at all times.
  • Monitor all building mechanical and life safety equipment to ensure normal operation.
  • Coordinate work activities of contractors & outside vendors and assist them with isolation of building systems as necessary and monitor their workmanship.
  • Oversee and manage all facilities related software and systems which include automated building management, energy systems, access control, key systems, fire, life and safety system, generator monitoring system, HVAC system, and lighting controls for the site.
  • Support critical facility service disruptions and building emergency response efforts as required.
  • Ensure effective maintenance processes and procedures are in place and adhered to by the on-site Camelot team.
  • Maintain site excellence through ownership and continual improvement of facility to provide a world class employee and visitor site experience.
  • Respond immediately and effectively to ensure building occupant safety in all emergency situations including fire, evacuations and equipment failure.
  • Assist the client’s Facility Manager as needed to oversee, coordinate and communicate tasks and requests with any contracted service provider of the client to maintain site excellence.
  • Be available weekends and after hours for scheduled and emergency maintenance functions and/or client events
  • Ensure timely set ups and tear downs are performed for events during and after business hours and on the weekends, as needed.
  • Provide an annual, detailed O&M spend and 5-year capital plan for the client.
  • Assist with monthly budget reviews, providing analysis and spend history.
  • Responsible for planning, preparing and providing active response to inclement weather to ensure employee and visitor safety
  • Participate and oversee contract negotiations for the client as needed to capture any cost savings.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives as it relates to building operations.
  • Be outgoing, predictable, courteous, neat, clean, and always representing the company in a professional, moral, and ethical manner. Ensure the same for the entire Camelot team.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Candidates will have a minimum of 3-5 years as a commercial facilities chief engineer with proven experience in building operations.
  • Proven leadership experience and ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Must have strong computer skills, such as MS Office Outlook, Excel, Word, CMMS systems, etc.
  • Must have strong working experience in various facilities systems, i.e. building energy management system, access control, lighting controls, audio, video, and fire, life safety systems. Experience with HVAC systems with DDC controllers and computerized building automation systems.
  • Familiar with the various testing and monitoring of emergency backup generator sets.
  • Excellent oral and written communications.
  • Ability to interact with the client and vendors in a positive and professional manner.
  • Possess competent knowledge on the methods, tools, and equipment used in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of MEP equipment and systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Proven budgetary and capital planning processes experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must possess a valid Covid-19 immunization card.
  • Must have a solid safety record in past work history and training in safe work practices
  • Must possess the physical attributes that would allow for or be able to:
  • an extensive amount of walking
  • climb / stand on ladders while performing repairs or using various tools
  • bend at the knees / practice safe lifting standards often throughout the day
  • lift up to 75 lbs. independently
  • push, pull or move (using various equipment) objects around or through the buildings
