Charge Nurse Job at MedHQ-Precision Care Surgery Center
Precision Care Surgery Center in East Setauket, NY has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Charge Nurse to supervise the Pre-Op department. The center is offering a sign on bonus for this position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrates the ability to communicate the center’s mission, vision and values, as well as center goals, to all staff.
Provides supervision, leadership, and guidance to other leaders and staff in goal setting, problem solving, resource management, outcome achievement, and promotion of team cohesion.
Demonstrates staffing accountability through planning, assigning, directing work of subordinate staff, including training, and appraising performance in conjunction with the management team.
Supports the management team in the evaluation of performance objectives and metrics for the center and assesses the level of competence of staff in a timely manner.
Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy work environment by modeling the desired behaviors and encouraging those in others including through rewarding and disciplining direct reports and addressing complaints and resolving problems
Demonstrates the ability to cope with, and manage change effectively, as well as help others do the same.
May at time be required to collaborate with other centers to create systems and problem solve ongoing issues that impact center/organizational goals and/or patient care delivery.
Supports the management team in demonstrating fiscal accountability for center resources and the ability to achieve outcomes within allocated resources.
Demonstrates a clear understanding of regulations applicable to patient care and/or other center functions.
Effectively participates in the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI), Infection Control, Safety, Medication Management programs and committees as assigned.
Appropriately documents all requested reports for benchmarking, scorecards, and meeting minutes in a timely manner
Maintain budget items assigned by leadership: Hours / case, pharmaceutical expenses, and any other assigned areas
Supports, implements, and champions the effective management of supply costs and cost-savings initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Registered Nurse with an active license in the state of NY
BLS and ACLS certification
PALS certification preferred
Must have at least 2-4 years of previous Charge Nurse experience
Previous Orthopedic experience required
Previous ASC experience required
