Oregon Health & Science University is Oregon’s #1 hospital. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is part of the health care team, and provides direct or general nursing care to patients from admission through discharge. The CNA assists the patient, patients' families, nursing staff and other support staff to assure the delivery of safe, quality care in alignment with the mission and vision of Doernbecher Children's Hospital and OHSU. In the Float Pool role, you will have the opportunity to work in multiple locations with different patient populations.

Wage Range:
$19.78 - $26.38 per hour + $1/hr. Float Pool differential
Schedules: Float Pool CNA's schedules are 12 hour shifts on 3 days per week for full time or 2 days per week for part time, including every other weekend.
Function/Duties of Position:
$5,000 Hiring Bonus
  • Float to different departments within OHSU that need additional CNA support
  • Assist with the admitting and discharge
  • Obtain accurate vital signs and weight
  • Complete all unit specific CNA documentation in the patient’s medical record related to: admissions, daily care, vital signs, weight, intake and output, discharge, etc.
  • Assist the patient with any and all basic hygiene, lifting, transport, dietary support, and other personal needs and medical necessities
  • Support patient and family centered care
  • Report potential compliance problems as outlined in the Code of Conduct
  • Model ethical and appropriate behavior, professional standards, compliance, and personal integrity
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
Required Qualifications:
  • Valid Oregon CNA1 or CNA2 certification
  • BLS required at time of hire, issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network branch of AH
  • Verification of High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
