Careage, a leading provider of senior healthcare services throughout Washington and California is actively searching for a Certified Nursing Assistant (NAC) to join their Renton Skilled Nursing Facility for a 16-week assignment.

  • Local Candidates Only. This is not a traveling CNA role.
  • Must have WA State CNA License
  • 16 Week Assignment at Renton Location with Guaranteed Hours
  • $30/hr.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient rounds as assigned.
  • Review care plans and provide care as outlined.
  • Assist patients with bathing, oral care, dressing/undressing, toileting, perineal care, catheter care, grooming, eating, and taking/recording vital signs in accordance with facility policies.
  • Strip bedding, change linens, and make patient beds as assigned.
  • Assist with activities of daily living as designated in each patient’s care plan.
  • Ensure patients are given adequate assistance with meals, nourishment, and transportation to the meal service area(s).
  • Demonstrate competency in the prevention of foodborne illness and safe food handling
  • Record the care and treatment provided to the patient and the patient’s response or lack of response to care provided.
  • Demonstrate competency in the prevention of foodborne illness and safe food handling
  • Assist with activities of daily living as designated in each patient’s care plan.
  • All calls for assistance must be responded to promptly. If an assigned caregiver cannot answer the call promptly, they are to request a replacement or immediately advise their supervisor.
  • Assist in emergency situations. Call 911 and request supervisor/med tech assistance. Complete the Incident Report and give completed documentation to Nursing Supervisor and/or Executive Director
  • Ensure correct recording of all resident ADL’s before leaving shift. Receive/give verbal updates at shift change.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Med Tech, Supervisor, or Executive Director within your scope of practice.
  • Security checks as assigned by Med Tech, Supervisor, or Executive Director within your scope of practice. Monitor and ensure the general well-being of all residents. Be familiar with current individual resident service plans.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must have current certification in the State of Washington as a Nursing Assistant
  • Must have current CPR training
  • Acceptance of philosophy and goals of the Facility
  • Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment.

OTHER SKILLS OR QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Proficient computer skills in managing the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Ability to manage information electronically and transfer records appropriately
  • Ability to work in an electronic environment
  • Must possess the ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Must possess strong oral, written, and telephone skills.
  • Must be in good health and physically/mentally capable of performing assigned tasks
  • Certified in First Aid/CPR
  • Obtain any permits or training required for the job
  • Current Fire and Safety training/Disaster training
  • Capable of meeting all requirements that may be specified by the state or other regulatory agencies.

LIFTING REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to participate in physical activity.
  • Ability to work for an extended period while standing and participating in physical activity.
  • Heavy lifting
  • Ability to do extensive bending, lifting, and standing on a regular basis.
