The MercyOne Prarie Trail Clinic is looking for a CMA, LPN, or RN to join the team! MercyOne Central Iowa operates four not-for-profit Catholic medical centers in Des Moines West Des Moines Newton and Centerville and two specialty hospitals – MercyOne Children’s Hospital in Des Moines and MercyOne Rehabilitation Hospital in Clive (965 beds total) – along with more than 20 additional facilities that house more than 50 primary care pediatric internal medicine and specialty clinics. Responsibilities

In healthcare, we all agree that support is a must in order to be successful. You will communicate with patients and their caregivers throughout their entire clinic experience. From front office to back office and all clinical support required in between and ensure patients and their caregivers have a positive experience. If you are a CMA, LPN or RN who enjoys working directly with patients in a clinic setting, it’s time to connect with us!

What you’ll do:
  • Reviews medical records and obtains other pertinent information prior to office visit from hospitals and referring physicians’ offices.
  • Prepares patients for exams and facilitates patient flow.
  • Obtains medical information from patients and documents in medical records.
  • Performs tests and procedures as ordered.
  • Provides patient/family education.
  • Writes and prepares prescriptions utilizing and electronic physician signature
  • Assists with transfer of patients.
  • Monitors and stocks medication closets.
  • Operate required vehicle(s) in a safe manner to perform required duties of the position.
  • Travels and performs CMA duties with Outreach Clinics as requested.
  • Completes Iowa Heart Center CMA competencies.
  • Adaptability to maintain both a high standard of courtesy and cooperation in dealing with co‑workers, patients and visitors, and satisfactory job performance despite the stress of a medical work environment.

Qualifications
  • CMA- Successful completion of a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). Current/Valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
  • LPN- Current LPN license issued by the State of Iowa
  • RN- Possession of a current RN License issued by the State of Iowa.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population serve within three (3) months of hire.

Pay Range
$17.89 - $24.60 /hour
