UofL Health – Brown Cancer Center is an academic cancer center affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine. The cancer center’s goal is to make cancer a disease of the past through cutting-edge care, innovative clinical trials and cancer prevention efforts. Brown Cancer Center is home to Kentucky’s first and longest-accredited program by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. We are a nationally recognized center for developing experimental cancer therapeutics and diagnostics and have the most significant cancer trials program in the region. JOB SUMMARY:

Medical assisting duties include patient triage, vital signs, patient history, EKG, injections, and using the electronic health record.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
• Medical Assisting certification from a nationally recognized organization (CMA, CCMA, or RMA); if certified not upon hire then certification must be obtained in the first 90 days of employment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Medical Assisting Degree
• Minimum one year of working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office.
• Experience coordinating with other doctors’ offices, attorneys’, and patients

Pay: $740.00 - $900.00 per hour
