Jefferson Franklin Community Action Corporation is a social service agency located in the St. Louis Metro area. We are seeking to looking for someone with a passion for leading our team of dedicated staff in our Head Start Center. The Team Supervisor will responsible for the daily oversight and operations of the center(s) and assigned staff, including compliance of state and federal regulations.

Supervision:

  • The Team Supervisor will supervise and evaluate assigned center staff. Work with employees to correct deficiencies and improve performance, and recommend disciplinary action when necessary.
  • The Team Supervisor will communicate areas of performance improvement to staff and promote training that reflects the individual needs of staff members and/or the team as a whole. Review and approve supervised employee's time sheet and mileage claim.
  • The Team Supervisor will coordinate bi-monthly Coaching Team Meetings; identify and assign tasks and follow up with team members as necessary.Complete monthly reflective supervision meetings with individual staff members, identifying individual professional development goals, and providing supports to meet goals, and follow up to ensure goals are met.
  • The Team Supervisor provides skill development and mentoring to staff progressing in their position by performing on-the-job technical assistance and mentoring of specific skills.
  • The Team Supervisor is responsible for coordinating, tracking, and approving staff schedules.
  • The Team Supervisor will complete ongoing monitoring responsibilities as it relates to state and federal regulations.Responsible for conducting on site orientation for assigned staff; coordinate and schedule individualized coaching with service coordinators as needed
  • The Team Supervisor will substitute when coverage is needed to maintain minimum ratio. As needed, will fill in for classroom site staff if substitute coverage is not available.
  • In coordination with the Human Resource Department, review and update staff records to ensure all local, state, and federal requirements are met.
  • Provide leadership in the area of early childhood development research and best practices; work in partnership with the appropriate Coordinator(s) to implement best practices in both center base and home base curriculum.
  • Regularly monitor, report and provide feedback for all employee related accidents.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and provide training of center volunteers.

Program Operations:

  • Ensure program compliance of agency policies and procedures, all state and local licensing agencies and grant requirements.
  • Monitor and manage direct service budgets. Work with staff to identify program needs and purchase supplies within allotted budget.
  • Monitor and manage in-kind.
  • Monitor and manage systems to ensure program quality and compliance with HSPPS.
  • Monitor and manage center inventory.
  • Maintaining and updating all upcoming center events on the agency intranet.
  • Monitor and manage the maintenance and safety of facilities and availability of supplies.
  • Submit monthly reports on direct service activities and status to the Program Operations Coordinator.
  • In cooperation with the Professional Development Coordinator arrange staff trainings required by state licensing and federal regulations, including CPR/First Aide; Health and Safety practices.
  • Maintain a general knowledge of the Head Start Performance Standards and complies with the standards.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelor's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Human Services, or a closely related field with a minimum of 18 ECE credits.

2. Work experience in early childhood preferred.

3. Experience working with low-income families, child care, health or education preferred.

4. Supervisory experience required.
