Part-Time Center Assistant Wanted for Sylvan! The Sylvan Learning Center of Castro Valley is looking for a fun, dedicated Center Assistant to help our teachers, students and staff. The Center Assistant is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day administrative tasks in the center, motivating and energizing students, and assisting teaching staff.

15-25 hours per week Monday-Friday.

Essential Job Functions:

• Greets and assists students, parents, and potential customers as they come into the Center
• Support the Castro Valley team with preparing materials for parent conferences, assessments, tours, and other customer appointments
• Manage day-to-day tasks of running the Center such as administrative tasks and maintaining Center supplies
• Supports standards and procedures to ensure student safety and well-being
• May assist teachers with preparation for instruction; gathers and prepares materials as appropriate
• Flexibility and adaptability are a must, ability to multi task is a must
• We are looking for HIGH ENERGY and leadership qualities, in order to engage and direct our students

Knowledge Required:

• Associates degree preferred
• Experience working with children, tutoring experience a plus
• Ability to connect with students and motivate them
• A passion for education and student success
• A minimum of one year of customer service experience; Retail sales experience preferred
• Knowledge of general office equipment such as copiers, printers, and office phones
• Being punctual is extremely important. You must be local and have reliable transportation
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
