Job Description


Do you possess a CDL license and are looking for a job with flexible scheduling? Look no further! TCI-Elkhart is seeking an experienced Dispatch / Transfer Driver to join our team shuttling trucks between Truck Centers' dealerships or to customer terminals. We offer flexible hours and mostly same-day shuttle runs. Successful candidates will boast a friendly, can-do attitude, safe driving record with Class A or B CDL with air brake endorsement, and solid time management skills.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pick up and deliver customer units to/from Service in a safe and timely manner.
  • Transfer Class 6-8 trucks or chase vehicles between TCI dealerships or customer locations throughout IL, IN, and MO.
  • Positively engage with customers to deliver paperwork, documentation, or information to verify the work needed or performed, special accommodations, or requests.
  • Ensure vehicle is presented in a clean manner and according to company policies.
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections and other routine maintenance checks as assigned.
  • Shuttle customers to nearby hotels or restaurants as needed using company vehicles.
  • Understand and follow federal and state regulations regarding the operation of commercial motor vehicles and Class 6-8 heavy-duty trucks.

Qualifications


Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.   • High school diploma or GED
  • Class B CDL with air brake endorsement and ability to meet insurance requirements; Class A CDL preferred
  • Proven knowledge of commercial vehicle equipment and operating systems
  • Understanding of federal and state regulations regarding operating Class 6-8 trucks
  • Resourceful, collaborative team player with the ability to also thrive independently
  • Ability to lift or move up to 70 lbs. unassisted
