Cashier/Customer Service Job at Grocery Outlet of Lakewood
The Cashier at Grocery Outlet is the person that can make the last positive impression for our customers. This position is responsible for providing friendly and efficient checkout services to our customers. Checkout does not mean just taking the customer’s money; it also includes ensuring the customer is satisfied with their shopping experience. The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with people, can work under pressure, and most importantly has a positive can-do attitude.
A cashier’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Counting the money in the drawer at the beginning of every shift
· Greeting customers and answering questions
· Maintaining a clean and orderly checkout area
· Receiving payment via credit card, debit card, cash, or automatic debit.
· Issuing change, credit, and refunds
· Issuing receipts and coupons
· Keeping drawer currency sorted, wrapped, and organized
Job Requirements
· Must be 18 years of age or older
· Able to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service
· Able to read, write, and do simple math problems
· Able to interpret, understand and follow instructions
· Must have a flexible schedule
Preferred Qualifications
· Able to work well with others as a team member
· Previous experience at Grocery Store or Retail Experience
· A passion for serving people
Work Conditions
A Cashier’s duties are performed primarily in the front of the store at the registers. A cashier may be exposed to various temperature changes and work environments. Work includes walking, standing, lifting, moving, carrying, and stocking product, along with interacting with customers, associates, and vendors.
