Job Summary:
We are looking for a qualified Carpenter:
  • To cut, fabricate and install materials.
  • To erect structures according to specifications.
  • Build, erect, install, and repair structures, and other fixtures.
  • To assist with various types of construction projects.

Your job will entail working in diverse settings to produce strong and functional products. A carpenter is an individual with great hand dexterity and an eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials. Working with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential. The goal is to contribute to the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting buildings and products.
Requirements:
  • Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation.
  • Must pass a background check before employment.
  • Must have had their COVID-19 vaccination and be able to provide proof of vaccination.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Capable of communicating within the team professionally and trustingly.
  • Confident in ability to receive and follow instructions.
  • Able to read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to grasp requirements fully.
  • Measures marks, and arranges materials to establish layouts based on blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
  • calculates the size and amount of material needed, places orders, and coordinates deliveries.
  • Creates wooden forms for pouring concrete projects.
  • Builds and supervises scaffolding and other construction structures.
  • Cuts and shapes structures, forms, or other fixtures from wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall.
  • Uses various hand and power tools to build assigned projects safely.
  • Joins materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple, or adhesive.
  • Ensures the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed.
  • Build window frames, doors, staircases, and frame buildings.
  • Lay floors, roofs, and walls to ensure a square and level.
  • Carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves, and other items and install them.
  • Able to read and adhere to specifications, labels, warnings, and guidelines.
  • Adhere to local building and safety codes.
  • Conducts inspections independently and with local inspectors to build safely.
  • Make repairs or maintenance site visits to new and existing clients.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Attentive to detail and always alert to ensure safety.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to effectively document daily work progress through construction project management software.
  • Reliably track and follow the schedule and to-do’s assigned within a smartphone app.
  • Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to properly care for and use tools of the trade.
  • Thorough understanding of carpentry principles and methods.
  • Works well as part of a team.
  • Proven experience as a carpenter.
  • Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials.
  • Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
  • Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.).
  • Ability to read technical documents and drawings.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling.
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.
  • Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.

You will be performing physical tasks like loading and unloading materials, and assembling and disassembling temporary structures; most importantly, you will be the skilled builder and craftsperson on the project. There are numerous job duties involving: tool use, lifting, carrying, managing, and working with people and equipment or machinery to execute the work on-site.

Salary: $17.00 - $33.00 per hour (depending on experience).
