At OC Broad Services, we are an agency that provides in-home services to relieve family members from the constant demand of responsibility of providing care for their loved ones with any developmental disability. We are looking for a caregiver who is near or lives in Costa Mesa, California. This is a 30-year-old female who is looking someone who can help support and provide companionship. This client does have celebral palsy, uses a motorized scooter and needs someone who is able to assist with her personal hygiene and daily living needs. Please keep in mind that this client does have two small dogs.

There are two different schedules we are looking for. You can either work with this client for the AM shift: 6:00AM-2:00PM Thursdays and Sundays, OR the PM shift: 2:00PM-10:00PM Thursdays and Sundays. Scheduled hours may not be guaranteed upon hire but will be considered. OC Broad Services cannot guarantee hours however, our staff will do their best to schedule you with the best placement based on your availability, experience, and location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide supervision and ensure safety of person served.
  • Assist person served with daily living activities, hobbies.
  • Companionship
  • May be asked to assist person served with personal hygiene such as brushing teeth, dressing, toileting.
  • Assist person served with light household chores if needed related to person served.
  • Light meal preparation.
  • Attend regular contact meeting with direct supervisor.
  • Report any and all incidents, behaviors and occurrences immediately to the supervisor including incidents of possible abuse or neglect.
  • Ensures each individual’s right are protected
  • Treats each person served with dignity and respect.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent.
  • Hold a valid Californian driver’s license in good standing; with insurance.
  • Applicant must be certified in First Aid and CPR by the first day of employment.
  • Must have fingerprint and criminal clearance prior to starting.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee is occasionally to frequently asked to lift and or move 50-75 pounds and maneuver a manual wheelchair. Employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move person served of any weight. The employee is frequently asked to sit, walk, stand, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch , crawl, push, pull and reach. The employee must have fine manipulation ability of both hands. The employee must constantly listen, talk, see and focus. The employee must be able to handle highly stressful situations on a day to day basis.
