Job Summary:

This position functions to oversee and manage the daily operations of a 24-hour residential home serving 1-5 individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities. You will lead a team of Direct Support Professionals who will provide clients with the daily living supports necessary to ensure their health, safety, and well-being. This position requires on-call availability on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a college degree, experience in human services or a related field such as healthcare, leadership skills, experience with Microsoft applications, and experience in a management or supervision role. Experience may be a suitable substitute for an academic degree.

Additional qualifications:

All prior and post-offer requirements must be satisfied. These include but are not limited to:

  • Drug testing,
  • Criminal history background check,
  • Possess or obtain a valid Oregon driver’s license.
  • Own a dependable vehicle, provide proof of vehicle insurance, and be willing to transport residents in a personal vehicle in return for mileage reimbursement.
  • Must be eligible to drive agency vehicles under the agency’s insurance carrier provisions.
  • Successfully complete CPR and First Aid Certification training within ninety days of employment and maintain current certification thereafter.
  • Demonstrate effective Management and Supervision skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to plan, design, and implement changes as needed.
  • Demonstrate effective time management and perform multiple projects within deadlines.
  • Demonstrate acceptable judgment in oversight of assigned functions.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in both verbal and written form.
  • Maintain professional conduct and image.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with agency management teams/departments.
  • Maintain an accurate and current filing system.
  • Demonstrate suitable computer competency.

Roles and responsibilities:

Client relations:

  • Perform entry, exit, and client transfers.
  • Create and update client support documents.
  • Participate in meetings with clients’ service coordinators, state representatives, doctors, health care representatives, etc.
  • Schedule physician visits and accompany clients to appointments. Monitor the health and well-being of clients. Report changes in health or condition that may need medical attention.
  • Transport clients to and from medical appointments and other activities. (Mileage is reimbursed per mile when a personal vehicle is used. Each site has access to one company vehicle.)
  • Manage client finances according to the financial plan and maintain balance sheets for cash on hand.
  • Plan client vacations and trips

Client care

  • Follow a resident care plan and implement the strategies outlined in the client’s support documents.
  • Support clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) which are those personal functional activities required by all of us for continued well-being, which are essential for health and safety. These activities may include personal hygiene, cognition, behavior, dressing, grooming, eating, elimination, mobility, & transfers.
  • Support residents with Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) or self-management which include tasks such as housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, medication management, shopping, transportation, etc.
  • Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
  • Plan fun activities and outings

Staff relations:

  • Participate in the hiring and dismissal process with assistance from your Program Manager and HR.
  • Oversee staff training
  • Conduct performance reviews
  • Create staffing schedules
  • Create a meal plan for staff to follow and prepare meals with or without assistance from the clients.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment by implementing a cleaning schedule.

General:

  • Shop weekly for groceries and supplies.
  • Conduct Fire drills.
  • Conduct Safety Inspections.
  • Dispose of expired medications.
  • Perform regular e-mail correspondence.
  • Report any unusual incidents.
  • Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency.
  • Streamline systems for documentation, data tracking, and filing.

Documentation and communication Systems:

Perform an administrative role within software applications to complete the following:

  • Monitor medication administration
  • Enter and discontinue medications
  • Oversee completion of Incident reports (GERs)
  • Oversee T-Logs
  • Communicate with staff

Physical Site:

We are currently hiring for our Eagle Point location which is situated in a rural farm setting. The road to the home is a ¼ mile-long gravel road with inclines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $24.50 per hour

  • 8 hour shift
