JOB IDENTIFICATION

Job Title: Dance & Arts Camp/Camp ReMix Camp Coordinator

Grade: N/A - Specialty Instructor

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Department: Recreation


SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to: Cultural Arts Manager

Supervises: Dance Instructors


BASIC FUNCTION

Directly in charge of coordination of the day to day operations of Dance & Arts Camp or Camp ReMix, supervision of dance instructors and participants


Seasonal Position (8 week season). Average 35 hours a week, 7 hours per day.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Work daily from 8:30am until 3:30pm. or until all campers are picked up by the approved guardian.
  • Works with the Art Director in coordinating themes and art projects. Reports directly to the Cultural Arts Manager.
  • Directly in charge of coordinating the day to day operations of Dance & Arts Camp or Camp ReMix, supervision of dance instructors and participants.
  • Responsible for the completion of all general re-camp and daily routine paperwork.
  • Organize camp program agendas
  • Establish camper groupings and staff assignments.
  • Help provide an atmosphere for developing good morale and well-being among staff.
  • Day to day administrative and supervising tasks.
  • Take telephone calls and answer parent questions and concerns, along with staff.
  • Submit written reports - accident reports, supply requests, program evaluations, discipline reports, write-ups, and other required paperwork.
  • Daily camp attendance.
  • Monitor safety and all procedures as they pertain to complete supervision to all campers.
  • Meet with Cultural Arts Supervisor to keep lines of communication open.
  • Troubleshoot to prevent potential problems from developing.
  • Render basic first aid as required.

Any other related duties assigned by the Cultural Arts Manager


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Must be 18 years of age or over, in-depth experience in dance, Administrative leadership experience.

Skill and experience in group dynamics, communication, administration, and youth development.

Previous dance instructor experience is a must.


Certification: Certified in First Aid and CPR.

Must pass Illinois State Police Criminal Background check.

Same as Director.
