SUMMARY
Under general supervision, responsible for the planning, negotiating, and purchasing of electronic components needed to meet the general business needs of VSE customers. Commodities include passives (resistors, capacitors,chokes, inductors, fuses, etc.) and hardware.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyzes the Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) database to determine supply and demand, and to control the flow of materials.
- Represents VSE by contacting outside suppliers regarding parts availability, negotiates pricing, and places purchase orders.
- Plans component material, and expedites orders. De-expedites orders using independent judgment to determine what materials can be put on hold or pushed out. Dispositions discrepant material and ensures product is moved to point of use.
- Reviews and answers to internal customer requests to expedite orders, and for the status of materials ordered.
- Meets with the Purchasing Manager to discuss significant matters such as problem components and suppliers. Advises the Purchasing Manager with conclusions and gives recommendations to resolve the issues.
- Prepares reports, including statistical spreadsheets and graphs.
- Files documentation, and other activities as conditions require.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Good skill with basic arithmetic.
- Minimum of three years experience in procurement of assigned commodities.
- Dependable, high energy level and self motivated.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic PC skills in EXCEL and WORD.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
