Eaton’s Airport Lighting division is currently seeking a Buyer.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $77249.97 - $113299.96 a year.

What you’ll do:

  • Work closely with Supply Chain Manager on the following key measures: work-in-process, schedule attainment, material velocity through the plant, and customer on-time-to-request delivery
  • Manage, mitigate, and report on critical delivery issues
  • Drive sustained recovery by implementing corrective action initiatives to prevent reoccurrence
  • Direct communication/reporting with both internal and external customers
  • Lead production meetings while ensuring stakeholder expectations are met
  • Work closely with Planner Material Manager to achieve on time delivery through scheduling adjustments due to material availability
  • Maintain SAP material settings to improve system performance
  • Manage E&O material to reduce value and prevent growth
  • Manage inventory procurement and control worth around $8-10M
  • Support new product development launches support through inventory build plans and inventory reduction of outgoing product lines
  • Supplier identification and selection, development, and consolidation
  • Identify and support material cost out projects including VAVE initiatives, vendor transfer of work, etc.
  • Work with Product Line Manager on obsolescence of products
  • Responsible for observing good business practices, protecting the interest of the company and for buying at the best possible price consistent with time, quality and quantity requirements complying with company policies and procedures
  • Run SAP reports as needed for the SCM team. Maintain metrics for On-Time Delivery (OTD), Days on Hand (DOH), Premium Freight, and others as assigned
  • Supervise the Pune Resource, point of contact and escalation for PIRS, MRP messages and new vendor add and requisitions conversion to PO to ensure timely availability of parts for production to meet customer shipping dates.
  • Manage High volume supplier performance using leading indicator metrics such as PPV, supplier OTD and quality, negotiating pricing, reschedules and expedites. Summarizing Open Order reporting from suppliers to identify potential risks to production schedules
  • Manage and respond to MRP requirements in a timely way, maximizing the supply base for delivery, cost and quality.
  • Communicates potential direct materials issues to the Materials Manager that could significantly impact the production plan.
  • Expedite material & revises direct material orders on an as needed basis in the ERP system to cover significant changes in manufacturing production schedules.
  • Use problem solving skills to resolve invoice discrepancies with quantity, pricing, etc.
  • Support global sourcing and negotiations efforts (vendor selection, qualification, pricing, terms, quality, and delivery performance), and aligning to the approved supplier list and business strategy while meeting company requirements.
  • Balance current and future demand requirements with operations and supplier capacities to ensure on-time completion of customer requirements. Build monthly item level demand plan (supplier forecast) for a rolling 12-month time period that will meet customer requirements, plant inventory plan, and monthly sales forecasts.


Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience performing purchasing functions.
  • Experience using SAP material planning system.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or Supply Chain Management from an accredited institution.
  • APICS CPIM, CSCM or CPM certification.
  • 3+ years of experience performing purchasing functions in a manufacturing environment.

Skills:

  • Basic concepts of planning and lean material flow (Pull systems, Kanban, MRP, Schedule sequencing, level loading, inventory modeling, JIT, etc.)
  • Understanding of Materials Management processes surrounding SIOP, Inventory Management, Materials Planning, Logistics, and Shop Floor execution
  • Strong process orientation, analytical, and planning ability
  • Professional Customer Service (both internal and external customers)
  • Strong data analysis capabilities
  • Proficient in MS Office programs
  • Ability to deal in adverse and ever-changing markets
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Analytical and decision-making skills
  • Ability to prioritize effectively in ambiguous situations
