Serves to provide a high level of programmatic development and support for the OSU Center for Quantum Information Science and Engineering (CQISE); responsible for the planning, coordinating, and development of the CQISE and infrastructure in consultation with the co-director in the College of Arts and Sciences and the co-director in the College of Engineering, creating an OSU community of multidisciplinary quantum information researchers, coordinating on-campus and regional focus groups and centers that eliminate traditional academic boundaries at the research level and identifies strengths in interdisciplinary quantum research, whose excellence is recognized internationally; provides administrative support for academic and research functions of the co-directors; strong ability to work with highly qualified faculty, students, and staff in a culturally diverse environment; monitors current operating and research spending and budgets to ensure that overall fiscal compliance and individual projects are within budget; assists with HR requests; communicates utilizing high-tech software; resolves fiscal issues for faculty and staff; manages issues regarding grant management; manages seed grant program; anticipates personnel funding needs; manages seminars, special events, and group meetings; manages communications and outreach to industry partners; assists in the design, preparation and distribution of related program materials, brochures, newsletters, and correspondence; updates related websites; communicate with center members via monthly emails, and through the CQISE website.

Responsibilities:

  • Programmatic development and support; planning, coordinating, and development of the CQISE and infrastructure; creating an OSU community of multidisciplinary quantum information researchers
  • Coordinating on-campus and regional focus groups and centers; administrative support for academic and research functions involving faculty, students, and staff; management of post-doctoral program
  • Monitors current operating and research spending and budgets, assists with HR requests, resolves fiscal issues for faculty and staff, manages issues regarding grant management and manages seed grant program, anticipates personnel funding needs
  • Manages seminars, special events, and group meetings; assists in the design, preparation and distribution of related program materials; manages communications, and outreach to industry partners.
  • Serve as main point of contact between collaborators, students, faculty, and staff; updates related websites; communicates with center members via email, and through the CQISE website

Education Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Experience Required: Knowledge of University academic rules and regulations, programmatic development and support, grand/seed-fund administration, writing and verbal communications with faculty, students, staff, and external partners, email correspondence and website content creation / management, workshop and event planning involving internal units and outreach to collaborators.

Experience Desired: Experience working in collaborative and interdisciplinary environments; ability to work well with diverse constituencies.
