This position is designated as work-from-home but may require periodic visits to FDIC HQ in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the business analysis activities alongside the project/program manager, technical staff, and federal clients for IT strategy and business support services.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to elicit their business concerns and develop workable solutions.
  • Identify inefficiencies and/or required controls, document procedures, track key performance indicators.
  • Perform high-level analysis and support related to statutory requirements and compliance, agency mission, strategic goals, business process
  • reengineering, implementation plans, and/or integration of IT investment processes to other procedures and disciplines.
  • Provide group facilitation, interviewing, training, and provides additional forms of knowledge transfer.
  • Experience inferring requirements from Use Cases.
  • Experience interpreting and creating business models, system models, domain models and sequence diagrams.
  • Participate in planning initiatives, feasibility studies, cost/benefit analyses, and new systems design.
  • Work with QA team to prepare test scenarios and data.
  • Document and manage business and functional requirements.
  • Create, extract, and modify ad-hoc and standardized reports based on financial and operational data as needed
  • Possess a thorough understanding of data, sources of data, and relationships of data in order to generate meaningful information for management
  • and others throughout the company.
  • Participate in the creation of a catalog of key performance indicators and the documentation of their supporting business requirements, data
  • models, calculation rules, and metadata.
  • Lead system feasibility studies, cost/benefit analyses, and new systems design.

Essential Functions & Duties:

  • Business analysis - elicit requirement, document use cases and user stories along with acceptance criteria, update stories as needed
  • Assist PM with status reporting and performing Agile ceremonies
  • API documentation
  • API testing strategy development and performing testing

Skills, Qualifications and Certifications of Best Candidates:

  • More than 5 years of work experience with progressively increasing responsibility.
  • Experience working as an Agile development team member – thorough understanding of Agile principles, practices, and tools (TFS, for example)
  • Experience with system integration projects (using products like MuleSoft, webMethods, Dell Boomi, etc.) is a plus
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) concepts.
  • Experience with preparing user stories, acceptance criteria, test cases, test plans, etc.
  • Experience with TFS, munit, jmeter will be a big plus
  • Advanced knowledge of SDLC methodology and UML.
  • Advanced proficiency in analytical, project planning, negotiating, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Ability to Perform cost-benefit analysis, trending, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency using various Microsoft Office desktop products.
  • Any BA certification will be a big plus
  • Scrum Master certification will be a big plus

Citizenship or Work Authorization Required: US Citizen

Preferred Education & Experience: >5 years of related work experience with progressively increasing responsibility, and a Bachelor of Arts/Science Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, Information Systems Management, Computer Science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

The physical efforts needed to perform the essential duties of this job 90% of the time are repetitive motions, grasping, holding, and finger dexterity of the hands, reading, writing, eye-hand coordination, color distinction, and full visual abilities, hearing, talking, sitting, and use of IT equipment, phones, and office machines.

To a reduced degree, <30% of the time, candidates may have to stand, walk, lift 0-30 pounds, push or pull objects, climb stairs, bend, squat, reach, drive a car, or work overtime.
