SUMMARY
The Business Development Manager will aggressively pursue new business within targeted Commercial Aerospace and Industrial market segments, focusing on systems, equipment and sensor OEM accounts. BDM may manage some existing accounts, but will be primarily tasked with developing NEW business within these segments. The BDM will draw from significant experience selling into these segments to accelerate Carlisle IT’s growth. The BDM will be highly motivated and energetic, and have a passion for winning new business and delivering innovative solutions to Customers. The BDM will relish the green field selling landscape inherent to this assignment, will be self-driven and will be able operate autonomously. The BDM will have a working knowledge of Industrial wire, cable and interconnect products applicable to this market.

The BDM will work closely with Product Management and Engineering to consult on new product development opportunities tailored to meet the needs of current and prospective Customers within these segments, and more broadly, will help influence the development of a product roadmap geared to address the needs of these segments. The BDM will grow the opportunity funnel for Carlisle IT within this segment, and develop and execute on action plans to successfully close those opportunities resulting in new business.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Develops new business within assigned market segments.
  • Develops high value relationships at all levels within new and existing accounts, establishing personal trust and credibility, and linking those customer relationships back to internal peers.
  • Establishes an identity and broad recognition of CarlisleIT as a technology partner of choice within new accounts.
  • Develops and implements strategies and actions to close sales funnel opportunities resulting in new business.
  • Develops marketing and business strategies, innovative processes and programs to meet objectives which are consistent with a “customer-focused” high performance sales organization.
  • Leads technical efforts and product roadmap development within growth accounts, working to match internal product management and engineering resources with corresponding resources at the account.
  • Consults product management and engineering on new product development opportunities and priorities to address market needs.
  • Works to promote growth accounts to strategic accounts in time, leading the development of the account strategies, guiding an indirect support team consisting of Carlisle IT senior managers, product manager, engineers, inside sales and other colleagues.
  • Follows up with customers to ensure Carlisle IT is meeting or exceeding service level expectations.
  • Attends and supports the planning of Carlisle IT’s presentation at trade shows and other industry events.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of the industry.
  • Other duties as required in support of the company and/or sales division.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
The following Accountabilities are key to success in the role of Business Development Manager:
  • Achieve or exceed the annual budgeted or minimum 10% Year Over Year Growth goal in region.
  • Full utilization of CRM by entering Sales opportunities into the Funnel on a weekly basis
  • Provide Quarterly updates to the team and Management on the Key Account(s) including, but not limited to change in business performance within the industry, acquisitions, program wins, change in Leadership within Engineering, Supply Chain, and Management, & long-term growth strategy
  • Create and execute Product Placement and Product Expansion Strategy
  • Provide Quarterly Strategic Account Review include the following:
  • Create and execute an Account Roadmap Strategy
  • A long-term account Penetration Plan

WORK ENVIRONMENT

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Five to ten years of experience in sales, engineering and/or product management within the aerospace interconnect or industrial interconnect industries.
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, business administration, or other relevant course of study preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Employee should have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Employee should have the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Employee should also have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

JOB SKILLS
  • Knowledge of or strong technical aptitude and desire to learn the key selling points associated with the products, linking those to the accounts’ needs.
  • High energy, drive and sense of urgency to meet internal and external customer expectations.
  • High learning agility needed to understand CIT’s products and business processes
  • Highly motivated; possess the desire to set and meet high performance standards based on excellence for the benefit of the customer, the individual, team members and internal customers.
  • Ability to coordinate and build relationships internally to support efforts and the account
  • Has a thorough understanding and operates under Carlisle IT’s policies and procedures. Has generalized working knowledge of the process and procedures that relate to the sales department’s “internal customers.”
  • Working knowledge of financial reports and ratios; understand relationships of margins, inventory turns, costs, profit and loss, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintains professional appearance and conduct.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office products.

SALARY INFORMATION
In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $85,150 - $130,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Carlisle Interconnect Technology reviews factors such as but not limited to responsibilities of the position, scope of work, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal pay equity, as well as market considerations when extending an offer.
