The Advanced Supply Analytics & Design team, within Evernorth’s Digital and Analytics vertical, works with its business stakeholders to drive the vision and delivery of solutions to maximize healthcare affordability through provider centric population health & specialty value based programs and reimbursement innovation. The Supply Analytics & Design team drives advanced analytics primarily to fuel affordability on Cigna Health plan supply side.

ROLE SUMMARY
The Business Analytics Senior Advisor, within the Advanced Supply Analytics & Design Team, will be an individual contributor responsible for conducting advanced analytics supporting the Cigna Healthplan Pathwell program design and network analytics. The Pathwell program combined with Evernorth’s Navigation services is an end-to-end enhanced benefit product solution for our customers that includes predictive analytics and campaigns, digital care management, clinical care navigators, and planned procedural bundled payment options. This role will also be responsible on executing the analytical priorities for accelerating the expansion of the Pathwell product suite and building out analytics to monitor network performance and program KPIs. This individual will work collaboratively with key technical and non-technical matrix partners inclusive of Product, Clinical, network and affordability to provide innovative analytical solutions by executing effective and defensible product network creation, data driven condition prioritization, opportunity analysis and evaluation.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Perform complex data research and analysis to support business operations including: creating data mining architectures/models/protocols, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to generate insights and identify trends in large data sets.

Execute and apply advanced analytical techniques to deploy robust valuation improvement focused on cost, quality and access

Conduct opportunity analyses to help prioritize within and between new initiatives and pilot ideas

Execute effective and externally defensible provider performance methodologies for Pathwell provider selection

Provide statistical guidance to planned procedural bundle pricing and savings calculations

Develop rigorous methodologies to define and measure network health metrics and program KPIs

Execute on effective prediction and monitoring of network health and program KPIs

Proactively translate business questions into analytical questions to identify key drivers/levers and generate valuable insights within the data

Manage analytics process, including data and analytic development. Ensure code is appropriately documented and can be understood by other analysts.

Synthesize complex analyses and present key insights to gain stakeholder support and buy in

Closely partner with business (Clinical, Product, Affordability) to set and groom high value priorities & roadmap

Closely partner with IT to validate and scale network health, program KPIs, and reporting

Focus on providing thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines

Understand how our analytics affect the broader business and bridge gap between data science and stakeholders.

Share knowledge, articles, courses, etc. with business stakeholders that fosters broader thought leadership.

Participation in activities outside of day to day role (committees, volunteering, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree highly preferred in fields of Statistics, Biostatistics, Econometrics, Economics, Actuarial Science, or Data Science or equivalent work experience.

5+ years’ of healthcare analytics industry experience solving business problems through the application of descriptive, diagnostic and prescriptive analytics approaches using statistical methodologies.

Required experience and training with advanced analytics techniques like episode groupers (Optum ETG, EBM, ERG, Prometheus etc.), provider profiling, network adequacy, steerage analytics, geo-spatial & social network analytics, risk adjustments etc.

Strong technical skills and hands on experience required to extract, transpose, and analyze healthcare Big Data housed in Teradata, Hadoop, cloud based Analytics Platform using SAS/R/Python.

Experience with ARCGIS and Geo-spatial tools is preferred.

Statistical training in school or through work (ability to formulate and execute appropriate confidence intervals, power analysis, bootstrapping, regression modeling, etc.).

Senior consultant providing counsel and advice to top management on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations; focuses on providing thought leadership across multiple disciplines; recognized internally as “the go-to person” for the most complex analytical assignments in relevant subject matter areas.

Advanced ability to use relevant technology/software to wrangle data, perform analytics, and visualize for consumption. Acknowledge by peers as a SME.

Expert-level analytics professional providing content/professional leadership on complex assignments/projects; exercising considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering initiatives; uses deep analytics knowledge and acumen to advise functional leaders; focuses on providing thought leadership within own discipline but works on broader projects, which require understanding of wider business.

Previous work experience applying a combination of analytical, technical and business acumen.

Demonstrated experience in challenging problems and driving outstanding results.

Proven ability to work collaboratively in complex matrix organizations and agile teams.

Experience blending creativity, relentless problem-solving, and business acumen.

Strong verbal/written communication skills to work with various matrix partners, including but not limited to actuarial, medical economics, business, marketing, and IT/IM.

Internal/external communication handled independently and with limited direction. Executive presence/communication.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 107,900 - 179,900 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
