OBJECTIVE AND POSITION SUMMARY

Prestamos CDFI, a division of Chicanos Por La Causa, drives economic and political empowerment within the business community. Our team empowers individuals using our collective strengths, experiences, and the knowledge to elevate and inspire entrepreneurs and small businesses in our community. Our Business Advising Team provides education, support, and guidance in the form of skills building, coaching, and forums to help business owners grow. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who wants to make a difference in the community and economy.

We are currently seeking a Spanish Bilingual Business Advisor who will execute outreach and recruitment for entrepreneurs in Coconino County eligible for the Small Business Assistance Program in addition to providing business education and coaching. The ideal candidates will have patience, determination, and strong communication skills. It would be helpful to have some level of expertise in one or more of the following core areas: Marketing, Digital and social media, Business Planning and Strategy, Human Resources, Website Development, and/or basic Business experience.


This can be a full or part time position that comes with benefits including telehealth, PTO, and paid holidays. Must be Spanish fluent.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Monthly execution of bilingual outreach and recruitment of Coconino County small businesses through in-person events with community partners, visiting businesses, social media, and other strategies to help inform businesses about the program and help them sign up for services

  • Ability to help collect metrics and analyze outcomes to determine progress and changes needed

  • Track and report on financial opportunities for all clients participating in program

  • Provide culturally competent customer service with a focus of building on client’s strengths

  • Ability to work remotely, travel statewide, and adjust calendar to meet demands

  • Understand general business functions (i.e., operations, marketing, sales, finance, management etc.)

  • Assess client needs and provide direct business advice and guidance via one-on-one consultation or small group counseling to small businesses in various Coconino County communities
  • Perform comprehensive review of client business model and make recommendations for sustainability and growth strategies for the respective topic


  • Directly assist business owners with business planning strategies to improve efficiency in overall management of their business


  • Assist in overall mission of Prestamos by working in a team environment to effectively complete other duties as assigned.

  • Reports to and is supervised directly by the Sr Manager of Business Empowerment. Employee is also accountable for understanding and complying with CPLC and Prestamos CDFI, LLC policies and procedures.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
  • Microsoft Office expertise (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)


  • Must be at least 18 years of age


  • Successfully pass a criminal background check.


  • Past experience working with or mentoring entrepreneurs


  • Valid driver’s license and proof of liability and property damage insurance on vehicle used is required as position will require travel within the state.


  • Occasional evening and weekend hours


  • Ability to present operational information to personnel at all levels.


  • Experience communicating effectively and work collaboratively with diverse small business owners


  • Employee will be expected to participate in continuous learning, competency building and maintenance of competency skills.


Effective January 3, 2022, all CPLC Employees and all Service Providers, are required to be Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19. Newly hired employees, who are not Fully Vaccinated at the time of hire, are expected to begin a vaccination series immediately upon hire. CPLC recognizes medical and religious exemptions to the COVID-19 vaccination requirement, in accordance with applicable law and upon approval by CPLC. However, any person approved for an exemption, without exception, is subject to masking, weekly COVID-19 testing at their expense, and other requirements established by CPLC from time to time.
