Summary of Responsibilities: Bus Driver will use the agency's school bus to safely transport youth and staff to various locations across New York City.
Bi-lingual - English-Spanish required. All agency documents and records are in English, English writing proficiency is required. Position itself requires Spanish speaking, writing, and reading proficiency
Schedule: Non-Exempt
- Full Time
- Must be flexible to meet program needs between the hours 7a-7p Monday-Friday with some weekends/holidays and on-call schedule
Functions:
Safely transport passengers via school bus
Assist passengers in the loading and unloading process
Maintain cleanliness of vehicle
Promptly report delays and accidents to supervisor
Report any inappropriate activities or behaviors that may occur while transporting children
Perform pre/post vehicle inspections. Checks for fluid leaks, blown bulbs, tire wear and low pressure. Immediately report damage to supervisor
Consistently check all fluid levels when fueling vehicle
Experience and Skills:
High school diploma/GED required
Valid NYS CDL License (A or B passenger endorsement) required. School Bus endorsement preferred
Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Gmail applications
Ability to work well with people from many cultures including recent immigrants, non-English speakers, and LGBTQ children

Willingness and ability to drive a car or van within the 5 boroughs of New York City, and across the nation
Must be at least 21 years of age
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting for several hours a day
Completing paperwork -Such as copying and stapling
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Sit in and/or drive a vehicle up to several hours
Sit/ride in vehicles, busses, subways, trains - public transportation for lengthy periods of time
Walk up/down stairs
Walk to enter/exit subway and other public transportation
Walk several blocks to get to required location
