Buildings and Grounds Foreman (FT) Job at City of Gardiner
This a highly responsible position overseeing the day-to-day maintenance activities of City property.

- This position also oversees 2 maintenance assistance employees and 1 custodian.
- Work involves working directly with the Public Works Director in organizing, coordinating and scheduling buildings and grounds maintenance activities such as mowing, weed whacking, trimming and cutting trees and brush.
- It is also responsible for the upkeep of city cemeteries, winter plowing of city owned property, parking lots and the maintenance of city sidewalks both winter and summer.
- Work involves a full range of maintenance responsibilities carried through on a daily basis.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge in light carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical repairs to buildings is desirable. Sound judgment and initiative are required in the performance of duties.
- This position requires independent judgment, with decision-making, along with frequent contact with outside contractors, vendors, department heads and the public.
- The Buildings and Grounds Foreman must have customer service skills when dealing with employees and the public.
- They must be courteous and respectful when giving instructions to crew members to ensure that each customer's specific needs are being met.
