Nature of Work

Monitors the Community Recreation Center during operating hours. Work is performed under the direction of the Recreation Program Supervisor or Recreation Center Manager.

Essential Functions of Work

  • Collects user fees, maintains and accounts for funds collected.
  • Monitors facility and surrounding area to ensure safe and proper conduct.
  • Reports safety or hazard concerns to supervisors.

Education and Experience

Customer service and money handling experience desirable.

NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a valid Montana Driver’s License

Requirements of Work

  • Ability to enforce policy rules and regulations and warn users of existing safety hazards.
  • Ability to manage conflicts or disputes arising in a calm and appropriate manner.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in an office and gym setting.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend, crawl, twist, reach, ride and perform similar body movements. Must have the ability to perform moderate physical work and to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time; the possession of hand/eye coordination sufficient to operate a computer and a motor vehicle; the ability to talk and hear in person or by telephone; and the ability to see and read instructions and reports.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
The work schedule varies on an on-call basis. Work is typically performed Monday through Saturday. This position is non-exempt and is eligible for overtime, with supervisor authorization prior to working.

TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local during the business day.
