The Role at a Glance
As Budget Analysis Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering on budget and expense analysis and reporting with complex financial information for Lincoln’s Retail Solutions by leveraging and applying knowledge of business systems.
What you'll be doing
  • Supports the development, deployment, and ongoing management of the performance reporting program that defines measures and analytics for the overall assessment of the business by sharing knowledge
  • Supports the delivery of the monthly financial management program by evaluating the budget on an on-going basis and communicates status to management
  • Prepares assigned monthly operational metrics and analytics which includes micro and macro trending and analysis of operational functions
  • Performs ad-hoc financial analysis and models that support leadership in understanding how the business is performing
  • Determines the financial management position of assigned budget to actual expenses and budget to actual forecast
  • Completes and performs analysis, calculations and recording accruals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis
  • Timely resolution of issues when budget or forecast assumptions require reconciliation.
  • Prepares the assigned monthly client level financial reporting to internal LFG customers
  • Assists with financial bridge from previous month to current month fiscal year forecast
  • Communicates with cost center owners on variances in budget to actual expenses
  • Serves as a budget coordinator for assigned areas of the business
  • Prepares assigned reporting of unit cost analysis
  • Carries out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines. Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required.
What we’re looking for
Must-haves:
  • 1 - 3+ Years of experience in budget analysis that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position
  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Apply concepts such as probability, statistics, modeling, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.
  • Works with mathematical concepts such as averages and/or variances.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • High proficiency and experience working with data analytics in Excel.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment; Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining strict attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities as needed.
  • Demonstrates solid project management skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrates the ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information.
Nice-to-haves:
  • Prior experience in insurance/financial services preferred
  • Prior experience with Tableau

Pay Range: $51,900 - $89,800

Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
