Hillman Beer is looking for an exceptional Sous Chef who can help us in our mission to provide elevated comfort food to our guests!

Other duties include:

  • Promote food quality, consistency and speed of service while maintaining the kitchen in a clean, efficient and cost-effective manner maximizing profitability.
  • Oversee all aspects of the kitchen and perform to the benefit of and as a steward of the brand while exhibiting and building the Hillman Beer culture.
  • Exceptional organization, time management, problem solving, and interpersonal skills are major components of this position.
  • Diligently works toward overall profitability and sales growth by collecting, creating and examining all appropriate documents to find cost savings and inefficiencies in all aspects of operations then creating solutions to meet company standards and goals.
  • Prepares and submits operational and financial statements to the general manager, executive team and accounting staff as required.
  • Ensures daily operations align with management teams financial goals and metrics.
  • Maintains food and labor costs within established range.
  • Ensure accurate payroll, time and attendance accounting as required.
  • Performs business forecasting and planning for upcoming sales periods to ensure proper staffing and inventory levels.
  • Develop and maintain a high-quality workforce by interviewing and hiring team members, taking corrective action when necessary and leading training efforts to ensure staff productivity and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain a safe and welcoming culture for all members of Hillman Beer that aligns with not only Hillman Beers values and identity but also the values of the community we serve.
  • Recruit, train and retain the best team members the industry has to offer. Treat people with respect, inspire the trust of others while being a role model and leader that others desire to follow. Hire, fire and perform team member evaluations.
  • Provides continuous training, coaching, support, recognition and encouragement to motivate team members to grow personally and professionally within our organization.
  • Forecast then creates and manages staff schedules and time off requests.
  • Maintains adherence to company SOP’s, operations manuals and other procedures.
  • Ensures adequate food and beverage prep and ticket times.
  • Ensures proper use of all checklists, prep lists, inventory and order guides as well as line build and prep item recipes to ensure compliance with company quality and consistency standards.
  • Uses company approved order guides and par values to maintain adequate inventory levels to prevent out of stock conditions.
  • Ensures that all kitchen stations are manned by appropriately trained staff that have demonstrated the required quality and consistency standards required by company SOPs.
  • Ensures that all line builds and prep are completed by appropriately trained staff that have demonstrated the required quality and consistency standards required by company SOPs.
  • Ensures restaurant equipment preventive and routine maintenance schedules are met.
  • Performs all administrative duties in an accurate and timely manner including but not limited to daily cash controls and paperwork, weekly inventory and paperwork, period ending paperwork and staff scheduling.
  • Performs immediate notifications to executive team and ownership team as directed.
  • Monitors and ensures all OSHA, local health, fire, operational, human resource and safety compliances are met to provide a safe environment for customers and staff. Ensure local health inspection score of 98 or greater.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
