Decorus Home Staging is thriving and we are looking for a dynamic in-house Bookkeeper

This is a part-time office position. This is NOT a stager or staging assistant job. We are looking for someone who is career orientated and will not see this job as a stepping stone into the design side of the business or as a temporary transition to something else.

Sure it's fun to look at the pretty stuff but your #1 focus is to ensure the money is taken care of! Education and experience in bookkeeping and payroll/HR preferred and a deep love for numbers a must!

You need to be the type of person who gets joy out of getting things done. Every day, you will bang out a list of stuff. Fun stuff. Important stuff. Necessary stuff.

You will be on the computer a lot. So, an understanding of social media, email, navigating the web, and other computer-based apps will be necessary.

You need to be a person who loves to deliver remarkable experiences to other people. You know, you need to be someone who feels good by making other people feel good.

You need to nail down the details. You don’t need to race through work and get things done half-assed (we figured that one out ourselves). We need you to slow things down and get them done right.

The poop will hit the fan on occasion. We need YOU to not freak out but rather inform the owners immediately and come up with creative solutions.

We want you to be meticulous in your work. If you are shy or quiet (which actually sounds perfect for us) that is totally cool. We are not looking for the life of the party…in fact, quite the opposite. We are looking for a good, fun person, who gets stuff done.

In short, your job is to help our CEO ensure the financial operation runs smoothly in any way you can. And to have fun at work (who wants a job that isn’t fun?!?).

Our office is casual, but we do expect professionalism and punctuality.

This is a part-time bookkeeping job. The pay will range between $24 - $30 an hour, depending on experience and the hours will be 10-20 hrs a week. You must come into our Palmer Ranch, FL office. (sorry, but this is not a virtual job).

In addition to being a detailed person, you must follow systems and processes. In fact, just to prove that you are detailed oriented and can follow procedures when you apply for this position in the subject line of the email you must include “I have found my type of peeps” in the subject line. Yep, that’s our little trick to sort out the people who blanket send their resume to anyone and everyone, from the folks (that’s you) who are truly interested in this position.

We are looking to bring our new colleague on board as soon as possible, but we will spend the necessary time to find the best fit both in abilities and culturally. Here is a more in-depth look at what we are looking for:

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the day to day bookkeeping, journal entries and cashflow tasks
  • Invoicing. Track payments and AR.
  • Collect Checks and Deposit as needed.
  • AP and bill payment
  • Monitor Bank Accounts - Profit First System
  • Produce timely and accurate monthly financial statements
  • Assist in the month-end closing activities including journal entries, monthly payroll summarization, reconciliation of accounts
  • Track employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policy and add to payroll.
  • Run bi-weekly payroll.
  • Maintain benefits to ensure all deductions are properly withheld.
  • Monitor paid time off, sick days, holidays accrued upon hire date.
  • Assist in the audit of payroll time entries, overtime, new hires, terminations, leaves of absence.
  • Basic Human resource duties: Verification of employment and new hire reporting.
  • Onboard New Employees
  • Contact person for employees looking for year-end W2 and 1099 forms.
  • Verify 1099 vendors and produce end of year 1099 documents
  • Assist in the reparation of needed documents for tax filings for external tax preparer.
  • Monitor spending for adherence to budget.
  • Assist in creation of the annual plan and the quarterly forecasts for our Quarterly and Yearly planning sessions.

Skills (proficiency level):

  • Accounting/Bookkeeping knowledge and experience with multiple business and maintaining multiple entities' books.
  • Experience with Profit First Method
  • QuickBooks
  • Microsoft office products: Wo rd, Excel, Power Point
  • Google products.
