Job Title: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Job Hours: 8:30am-5:00pm-Monday-Friday May require on-call

Job Shift- Full-Time

Job Location: Autism CSU Conyers, GA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Under supervision, designs and conducts research and/or data analysis to support educational programs. Analyzes programmatic and operational data, prepares reports and conducts planning for analysis of education or education related programs.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Attend interdisciplinary treatment team daily.
  • Discuss cases and share data, as well as elaborate on treatment approaches, progress made and discharge dates. Participate in the overall treatment approach from a team perspective.
  • Oversee all ABA interventions for the clients on the unit.
  • Provide training and assist with implementation of the Behavior Support Plan with all staff.
  • Work directly with the parent/guardian to notify them on the progress of the client to include weekly treatment calls.
  • Adhere to ongoing review and measurement of programs and service applications to comply with regulations, policies, procedures and standards set by the Agency and the Georgia Department of Behavior Health & Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD).
  • Assess, develop and implement behavior interventions for adolescents with ASD, some of whom will have co-occurring IDD/BH diagnoses (mental illnesses).
  • Provide regular supervision to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) that meets the current BACB supervision requirements.
  • Conduct initial Functional Behavior Assessments, reassessments, behavior reduction programs, and skill-based programs to diminish challenging behaviors that resulted in admission to the unit.
  • Design skill acquisition programs inclusive of developing communication, independence, social skills, and adaptive behaviors (*necessary to diminish the crisis behaviors*)
  • Provide parental training to ensure consistency of treatment after discharge.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Crisis Behavior Management Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass all requirements, including physical requirements of the Crisis Behavior Management Program (Currently MANDT)
  • i.e. - transition from standing to knees without using hands, transition from knees to standing without use of hands and perform all physical requirements of the training including physical holds.
  • Must be able to restrain an individual over 100 pounds to include a manual movement of client into the Observation Room and into a 4-point mechanical restraint if necessary.
  • Must be able to remain alert, awake, and attentive at all times without falling asleep on any shift.
  • Must be able to delay breaks, including lunch breaks, until appropriate coverage is available to ensure the physical and emotional safety of individuals with disabilities and for clients with specific coverage needs.
  • Must be able to remain calm emotionally and physically and refrain from responding inappropriately to irate or upset clients who may attempt to evoke a response from the staff (such as calling names, spitting or verbal threats).
  • Comply with organization, state and federal regulations set forth to include professional development, safety training, and confidentiality policies as required by DBHDD.
  • Participate in all team meetings and company-wide trainings as designated by manager and organization.
  • Work collaboratively with RBTs and CSU direct care staff in order to ensure consistency of intervention across settings.
  • Ensure the approach to the program helps meet the physical, social, and emotional needs of clients served while maximizing team collaboration, cooperation, and service integration across disciplines as well as the organization.


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PHD in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education or related field.
  • Must be currently certified as Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Follow the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts.
  • Maintain good standing and certification status with the BACB.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • One (1) to two (2) years of experience with Mental Health/Crisis Stabilization/Hospitalization.
  • At least one (1) year experience with dually diagnosed individuals (I/DD population, comorbidities).
  • One (1) to three )3) years of experience with supervision of RBT staff.
  • Great communication skills (oral and written)
  • Two years’ experience ABA Therapy.
  • Experience with severe and challenging behaviors.
  • At least one (1) year experience supervising staff.


Requirements/Competencies:

  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
  • Requires long periods of sitting/standing.
  • Must have valid Georgia driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.
  • Candidates for selection must pass a criminal background check (including fingerprinting).
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and subject to random drug screens.
  • Any combination of training and experience, which would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
  • Other duties as assigned.
