Description: A QBMP is a designated position for working within an Enhanced Behavior Support Home (EBSH). The QBMP is responsible for leading the intake process, conducting all assessment procedures, overseeing all aspects of clinical programming, providing caregiver and staff training, and maintaining primary responsibility for the on-going supervision for individuals working as a Lead Direct Support Professional (LDSP), and/or a Direct Support Professional (DSP).

  • Responsible to perform designated functions of a Qualified Behavior Modification Professional (QBMP) which include but are not limited to the following:
  • Assessment and treatment plan development
  • Clinical programming (challenging behavior management, skill acquisition, and data collection methods)
  • On-going evaluation of individual progress
  • Report writing
  • Conduct regular in-home clinic meetings with the Direct Support Professional
  • Provide direct intervention services to individuals, as needed
  • Provide training and on-going support to staff
  • Provide a minimum of six hours per month of behavior consultation for each consumer

Overview The role of a BCBA supervisor is to apply the principles and philosophy of behavior analysis to do the following: assess the needs of CABA clients (skill deficits and problem behaviors), recommend a service presentation in line with the referring party (i.e. service line), develop intervention plans to address areas of identified need, train CABA direct staff and Care providers (e.g. parents, outside agency providers, etc.) to implement plans, continuously evaluate the efficacy of plans and trainings utilizing objective data, revise all of the above based on data based observations as applicable.

  • Maintain standards of client safety and confidentiality
  • Display and support CABA values in all interactions and situations when representing CABA

  • Participate in CABA’s Collaborative Professional Development Model (CPDM)
  • Participate in development and on-going maintenance of Professional Development Plan (PDP)
  • Participate in evaluation of personal work performance
  • Demonstrates reliability and dependability by arriving to scheduled work hours, appointments, meetings, events, etc. on time and following appropriate CABA policies for reporting tardiness/absences and requesting time off
  • Establish and maintain effective relations with CABA colleague(s), consumer(s), and third-party representative(s)

  • Speaking clearly
  • Listening without interrupting and asking for clarification when needed
  • Selecting appropriate topics, time, setting, method (e.g., in-person, phone, e-mail) to communicate with others

  • Using reason when dealing with emotional topics
  • Focusing on solutions and avoiding blaming when dealing with conflicts
  • Maintaining confidentiality as appropriate and using discretion when communicating personal and/or CABA information

  • Collaborate with CABA colleague(s) to inform policies, procedures, and processes
  • Interprets information/data accurately and constructively for self and others
  • Works to establish and support effective and efficient skill sets of CABA colleague(s)
  • Provides relevant skills training and coaching to CABA colleague(s) on an on-going basis
  • Sets expectations, monitors delegated activities, and provides recognition for results
  • Obtain and report relevant information to CABA colleague(s), consumer(s), and third-party representative(s)
  • Promote positive public relations, facilitate collaboration within and across colleague(s), consumer(s), and third-party representative(s)
  • Participate in professional growth activities (e.g., tutorials, classes, conferences, etc.)
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on the performance of CABA colleague(s)

Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements

Education:

  • Master’s degree (MA/MS) in Psychology, Behavioral Science, Counseling, Education, Special Education or any other related area of study from an accredited institution
  • Coursework, specialization and/or degree in Behavior Analysis (or a domain of) preferred

Experience:

  • 2+ years supervisory experience
  • 3 + years of experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), developmental disabilities, and/or other disorders as well as comorbidity with mental health disorders
  • 2 + years of experience with severely challenging behaviors and the design and implementation of related assessment and intervention strategies

Licensure or Certification:

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Behavior Analyst- Doctoral (BCBA-D) certification completed and maintained - You must have had your certification for a minimum of at least 2 years to apply.
  • Completion of 8-hour supervision training and maintenance of supervisor status per BACB requirements

Basic computer and mobile device skills required:

  • Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office applications such as Microsoft (MS) Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in utilizing CABA specific scheduling software on tablet, computer and/or mobile Device
  • Proficiency in the use of CABA specific digital data collection software on tablet, computer and/or mobile Device

Physical Requirements:

  • Willingness and health status to permit working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Strength and stamina to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds, walk stand, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time
  • Physical capacity to safely push individuals in wheelchairs on a variety of terrain and support individuals with other mobility needs as required
