What you’ll be doing:

You will assist projects, teams, scheduling, and estimating for Harder Mechanical’s Portland office. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in 2D CAD and 3D modeling software, industrial process piping and detailing, system layout, and MEP coordination, as well as knowledge of high-tech tool install process piping systems and/or commercial process and plumbing piping systems for new construction and/or retrofitting of existing facilities. This position has a high potential for growth and is part of a highly skilled, collaborative team.

BIM Managers at Harder perform the following daily tasks:

  • Coordinate and control retrieval of documents from internal stakeholders
  • Receive, create, and process change orders
  • Review and apply labeling standards to documents
  • Provide documentation support to the project team creating detailed mechanical piping models, layouts, drawings, generating Bill of Materials (BOM) reports, and creating isometric spool drawings
  • On site troubleshooting of software issues and adherence to standards
  • Management of BIM budgets

What you will need to be successful in this role:

  • Proficiency in CAD drafting (Autodesk products preferred) and detailing for mechanical and process piping systems in commercial and industrial construction projects
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams of piping detailers/designers and scheduling of tasks
  • Process piping detailing experience
  • High-tech tool install knowledge
  • Familiarity with commercial plumbing systems
  • Demonstrated experience in AutoCAD, 3D Modeling and Navisworks software
  • Ability to identify design issues and provide virtual simulations in 3D

Education/Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience, preferably in a fast-paced work environment
  • Experience in a construction environment or similar industrial setting
  • Working knowledge of Plant 3D Plant software is preferred or experience with other 3D piping software such as CadWorx, AutoPlant or MEP
