Salary Range: $19.00 to $25.00 an hour

By adhering to Connecticut State Law, pay ranges are posted. The pay rate will vary based on various factors including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge of position and comparison to others who are already in this role within the company.

PACT MSO, LLC is a management service organization that supports a large multi-specialty practice of providers. We are currently looking for an experienced Medical Billing Specialist who will be working in Branford Monday through Friday.

SUMMARY

This position coordinates all patient and insurance billings for the medical practices.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS for Billing Specialist:

  • Data entry of charges, payments and or corrections.
  • Contact patients regarding outstanding balances.
  • Establishes payment plans to help patients manage payment of bills.
  • Sends delinquent accounts to collection agencies.
  • Processing insurance payments to patient accounts in our system / refunds to insurance and patients.
  • Create and mail insurance claims and patient statement.
  • Rebill insurance companies or other third parties to secure payment for the group.
  • Responds to patient billing and statement inquiries.
  • Make recommendations to management for write-offs.
  • Answer patients inquires, by phone, in persons, mail.
  • Work on reducing the A/R, by working on denials and appealing to the insurance company.
  • Follow up on assigned correspondence from Insurance Companies.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Research and resolve problems by gathering and analyzing information with others or individually
  • Manage difficult customer situations by responding promptly to customer needs and meeting commitments.
  • Address full life cycle of the billing cycle by accurately handling items with detail and thoroughness.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Billing Specialist:

  • 3+ years of experience working as a medical biller in a physician group
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Medical billing certificate preferred
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with HER
  • Excellent customer service including written and verbal communication
  • Excellent judgment and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstration of outstanding phone etiquette
  • Experience in Workers Compensation and MVA claims
