Emerge Pediatric Therapy is looking for a full time Billing Assistant to add to their growing team! This person would act as an assistant to the Billing Manager. This person should reside within North Carolina for occasional in-office meetings, but would be able to work remotely.

Responsibilities

The Billing Assistant’s purpose is to ensure that delegated tasks related to billing and collections are completed correctly and efficiently. This may be accomplished in the following ways:

  • Perform insurance verifications
  • EOB Payment Posting into EHR system
    • Input Manual checks
    • Download and post manual checks
    • Review all postings to ensure accurate allocations
  • Some research for denied claims and/or partial payments
  • Claim submissions as needed
  • Making outbound calls to insurance companies, patients and physician offices as needed
  • Coordinates and follows up with clinical and office staff to assist in billing matters
  • Accurately documents and maintains client files in company EHR and payer online systems
  • Any other tasks delegated by the Billing Manager after provided with the proper training
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of NC Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care Organizations payers as it relates to documentation and reimbursement requirements
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and Proficient in computer literacy
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize duties

Compensation

Hourly pay up to 40 hours at a rate of between $17-19/hour depending on experience
