About the Program Manager Position

The Program Manager is charged with the overall organization of a Maryville multi-staff two or more Long-Term Foster Care group homes. Monitors program development to ensure that youth and their offspring receive appropriate care in a safe and nurturing envornment. Ensures the consistent implementation and application of the Maryviille philosophy. Engages primarily in the performance of managerial duties. Directs one to two coordinators as well as youth care workers. The program manager is a grant position related solely to the Long-Term Foster Care (LTFC) group homes as funded by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) and any successor finding.

Hours: 10 AM to 6 PM

About the Long-Term Group Home

The Long-Term Group Home (LTGH) is one of Maryville’s contributions to the safety and well-being of children globally. Boys and girls displaced by war, violence, abuse or chronic poverty find a home at Maryville when there is no family member to care for them. Maryville’s group homes for boys and girls ages 12 through 17 offer a trauma-informed environment that permits New Americans to develop their skills and talents in a community of support and safety. The Maryville Long-Term Group Home is federally sponsored through the Health and Human Services’ Office of Refugee Resettlement and ensures that the children’s physical, emotional, spiritual and psychological well-being is protected.

Essential Fuctions:

  • Plans and manages program to provide for the residential care of LTFC youth.
  • Develops and implememhts organizational procesures to ensure a daily routine in the program. Such procedures include those pertaining to staff/home scheduled, logistics and transportation, logs, and other organizational tools.
  • Coordinates with the care team to advance implementation of case management activities, records documentation, classroom activities and youth treatment plans.
  • Provides feedback to staff on their implementation of Maryville policies and procedures and maintains professional standards in regular written and informal consulatation
  • Reviews documentation and administrative forms for accuracy and effectiveness, including shift logs, daily case entry logs, significant incident reports, visitation logs, sign in/out log, leisure, recreation and worship logs, medical records, and other documentation required by ORR, as per ORR policy.
  • Oversees a safe environment, with zero tolerance of sexual abuse in the group homes
  • Oversees the implementation of weekly community meetings of the youth in the home
  • Oversees the pruchasing of clothing, food and other items necessary for youth/children
  • Conduscts and oversees daily perimeter checks in the homes
  • Ensures the security of each LTFC youth by mnonitoring that youths actibities in the community and his.her safety as per cimpliance with group home expectations
  • Provides insights on youths adaptation to the LTFC group home environment in multi-disciplinary Treatment Team meetings.
  • Oversses van safety, including van safety for toddlers and infants, and maintance
  • Monitors staff cimpliance with policies and completes annual performance evaluations
  • Participates in continues performance quality improvement
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education/Esperience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in human service related field from an accredited college or univeristy required, plus two years of residential child care experience
  • Minimum of one year of experience appropriate to population being served
  • Minimum of 25 years of age

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Bilingual English/Spanish language competency required
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing with maryville youth, supervisors, coworkers, subordinates, suppot agencies, and a variety of internal as well as external consumers
  • Ability to analytically problem-solve a varity of situations
  • Ability to cope with crisis situations in a calm, effective manner

Physical Demands;

  • Required to frequently sit, stand, bend, stoop and walk, sometimes for extended periods
  • Able to walk up and sown stairs
  • Required to lift.move objects weighing in excess of 40 pounds
  • Must have visual hearing, and learning capabilities sufficient to perform the essential functions defined above

Environment and Scheduling:

  • Duties involve contact with youth who may be traumatized
  • Must be flexible in training and scheduling and available to work additional hours, evenings and weekend shifts when necessary
  • Will perform work in and in association with Maryville program settings

HIPAA PRIVACY TRAINING AND SANCTIONS:

All employees who have access to health information whose confidentiality is protected by the HIPAA Privacy Rule are required by the rile to receive training so that they have an understanding and knowledge of the privacy rile that corresponds to their job responsibilities and of the group health plans policies and procedures that impcat on their job duties. SIte specific training on requirements of the HIPAA Privacy Rules and the plans health information policies and procesure under the direction of the plan privacy officer may be required for this position based upon site specific requirements. Employees who violate the requirements of the HIPAA Privacy Rule will be subject to discipline, up to including termination.
